“Wonderful Ambience and Amazing Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We have eaten at most of the restaurants at the Kemah Boardwalk and always have had to wait in long lines and have been disappointed with the food and service. The Opus Bistro is a little further down from the Kemah Boardwalk Restaurants. I would highly recommend eating here. I can truly say the service, ambiance and food value compared to those restaurants in the Boardwalk is much better. Amazing food, service and wonderful view of waterfront. Our first time there we didn't make reservations but were seated quickly. (I do recommend making reservations especially Fridays and Saturdays) They have a great bar and nice selections of wines. They have wonderful outdoor dining and a deck upstairs. The staff is attentive, our waitress was Diane, she was knowledgeable in the specials that evening and was friendly and personable. I selected a soft shell crab with asparagus that was delicious. My husband selected NY strip and that was cooked perfectly. My daughter had the Shrimp and Scallop Victoria with a delicious paprika creme sauce over angel hair pasta, very yummy! For dessert I highly recommend the Bananas Foster, we should have ordered only a half order since three could have easily eaten the full serving. My daughter had the creme brulee also delicious. We definitely will be back!!!

“We'll come back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

After living in this area for decades, we had never been here before. Oops! The crab salad was delicious and we split it between the 2 of us. I had the Red Snapper with Bearnaise sauce and my husband had the grilled pork chops. Both were delicious, as were the veggie side dishes. It was a very nice dining experience with a view of a canal. They have white table cloths and candles on the tables, but wearing jeans was totally appropriate. It was a wonderful start to a summer weekend!

“Great bar and Great food”

Valet parking. Approachable bar with reasonable cocktail prices. The food was delicious with affordable entree prices. Overall, the service staff was great. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Kemah

Very cordial welcoming upon entering. Very good service. Food is excellent but not quite gourmet level. Nice selection of wines.

“I remember when it was really good.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

The title says it all. Over cooked and oily food slopped on a plate. Melted dessert and so much more.
