“Great Find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012 via mobile

Very good hotel built right in the Kemah boardwalk. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. A two minute walk to a half dozen restaurants and plenty of shopping. It would also be a great place to stay if passing through by boat due to proximity to the marinas

This hotel is located right on the boardwalk overlooking many shops, restaurants, etc. We went in the off season which you would think wouldn't be too bad. I would NOT recommend staying in this hotel for halloween. The music outside blares from 10:30AM to 10:30PM on a continuous loop. By the end of the trip we all knew the words to Monster Mash, Ghost busters, Scooby Dooby Doo, etc. On Oct 31st they also had a band and a ton of people were out there in costumes. I was there for business and couldn't hear myself think while trying to get work accomplished. The walls are so thin you can hear the music very clearly, hear when people leave their rooms, etc.

Thank you for your review of our property, we are disappointed that there were a few areas that did not meet your expectations of our Hotel and the Boardwalk. We are located in the center of activity on the Boardwalk and it can be a bit noisy during some key times of the year. We apologize for this inconvenience. We hope you will reconsider visiting again , we certainly value your business.

Booked this hotel to stay at Kemah Boardwalk for one night. Was pleasantly surprised as to how nice the hotel is. It is a cute little boutique hotel, very homely and cozy. Each room has a balcony and chairs to sit on, facing the water fountain that the small children play on, further out, the lagune. This hotel is right on or at the boardwalk. So if you are tired to going on the rides, or taking romantic walk with your significant other, you can return to the room with very little walking. I recommend this hotel and would come back if the opportunity arises.

Room Tip: Hotel is a pool on the third floor.

Never been to Kemah before. A friend found this hotel, and it is a great place to stay if you are taking a cruise out of Galveston. It is off the beaten path, but th prices are excellent, and I can see that it would be a great place to take a young family.

Location can't be beat if you enjoy a broadwalk atmosphere with carnival rides. It is all right here.

Better yet, the price is right, the place is quiet, and the room is extremely nice for the price.

As others have mentioned, too bad they don't offer breakfast inside the hotel, but there are a lot of choices within an easy walk, and you can always drive to a something close by.

You are also within a 30+ minute drive of Galveston, and you don't have to pay Galveston prices, so it was a great choice if you are looking for a fun place to stay prior to or after a cruise.

Thank you for your wonderful comments on our Hotel and we thank you for choosing us on your recent visit. So great to hear you have discovered our property and all the amenities we have to offer on The Boardwalk. We do have a restaurant next to the hotel by the name of Bayside Grille that does offer breakfast items on their menu, including some great beignets and pastries, hope you will sample on your next visit to Kemah. We are close to Galveston for a pre or post cruise experience and we offer free parking for our guests.

Come back and visit soon.

We wanted a quick weekend away and had always thought about the Boardwalk Inn when we visited Kemah. So, we booked the Bay View Master Suite at $399/night. We always book suites so if someone wants to sleep in, the other person can go to the living aea and not disturb the other.

The carpet was stained.

One of the toilets (there is a bath and a half) was broken. The other toilet was loose and wobbly.

The worst part was there is an adjoining room. The adjoining room is accessed through the bedroom to the Suite. The people next door came in at 2:30 and we could hear their entire conversation. They stayed up to 4:00 - we called security at 3:30 thinking they were yelling.

The next morning we could not sleep in because our neighbors were awake and talking again. The point is - the problem wasn't the neighbors but the fact that the walls are have no insulation so it was like having people right there in the room with you.

We mentioned this at checkout and the manager called. She said the stains happened from the guests just prior to us and they were going to replace the carpet. She agreed the toilets were in need of repair but said nothing about the noise issue. We received $100 off our room but that is their Monday through Thursday rate so - WHOOPIE!

We will go to Galveston next time and stay at a hotel not owned by the same party.

Thats right! We felt like being on vacation in New England in this hotel. We just loved it as we have been to New England a couple of years ago. It's nice that you can ride your car through the parking garage to get to the reception and then park your car there of course.
Reception is friendly and although the room looked a tiny bit dated was fantastic with the sea theme and the nice balcony.Don't expect privacy here as you look out on the boardwalk.
The pool area is also very nice and the Spa is great.
Only negative point is that they don't have a nice breakfast in the hotel.
Location for us is great with enough restaurants within walking distance.Especially the Saltgrass Steakhouse is a great place to have dinner.

Thank for your wonderful review of our Hotel! We are delighted that you enjoyed many of the amenities on the Boardwalk. Regarding our guest room product, we have plans to upgrade some of our soft goods in the coming months and enhance our guest rooms, we hope to have this in place soon. The Bayside Grille is next door to our hotel and does have some breakfast items, I will mention to our company chef that we need to enhance our selection and we will work towards improving this area. We can only improve our product and services through our guest feed back and we sincerely appreciate your detail review.
Come back and enjoy another Holiday! Look forward to your visit soon!

The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. Both my husband and I slept well - comfy bed. There are several good restaurants in walking distance; we went to the Flying Dutchman (highly recommended). The hotel staff were courteous, friendly, and professional. We would stay here again.

Thank You for your wonderful review of our Hotel . We are in the process of upgrading our bedding and sounds like you agree with our selection and you had a comfortable evening. We will be completing the balance of our guest rooms by end of November. Although all our restaurants on the Boardwalk are wonderful we have many of our guests rave about the Flying Dutchman, the atmosphere and food are always a big plus.
We are delighted that you mentioned our Hotel staff, they pride themselves in serving all our hotel guests and making them feel at home, I will share your comments with all.
We hope you and family will visit again soon.
