Meadowbrook Farms is a Greg Norman-designed course that came into being before most all of the development around it (It was just fields!). Now it is surrounded by homes and businesses.
The course lay-out is well done and provides some character to differentiate it from many of the public courses available in the Houston area. It has some doglegs and some degree of changing levels, although predominantly flat, as consistent with the coastal Texas plains. The course also provides some variation in look from hole-to-hole, with wider holes in places, and others requiring a more narrow focus from the tee.
They keep it in great shape, although the greens can be a bit slow at times, they are true. Not too much of anything (water, sand, high rough, etc.)...rather a nice blend.
The downside is that it can be rather spendy, particularly on weekends. Also, play can become slow, especially on the back nine on the weekends. Play during the week or later in the day to avoid slow play and higher fees.
