“Good stop.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

There is lots to see at the Jefferson Historical Museum. Items from multiple eras and wide range of items available to view. We didn't visit the model train display but I imagine it would have been good. It was housed in it's own building. The ladies restroom was kind of neat. With huge windows and a some decorative touches it was a nice surprise.

Very nice and very historical. There are many different things to see and they are open 7 days a week.

“Worth the time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Jefferson is one of the most under-rated small towns in Texas- it is a great destination, rich with history and unique Antebellum architecture.

The Historical Museum has multiple levels. They have recently moved a large model train set from Ft. Worth to an out building behind the museum. The details of this display are truly amazing.

I found the total price of the total facility a bit steep (extra is charged for access to the train display). However, it is definitely worth it for a fist-time visitor.

As with nearly all of Jefferson the staff is personable and terrific.

Very interesting small town museum. Included Caddo Indian artifacts and much more. Quite a collection of memorabilia.

“Extremely a have to deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

This is a have to see thing if you are touring the town of little ol' Jefferson, Texas. This will explain the history of the town and some of its localites. The museum is fairly cheap and has many things to see.
