After reading several reviews here my wife and I cound not wait for our trip to Jefferson this past Labor Day weekend and dining at Lamaches on Saturday night. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:00PM and were seated immediatly (figured we would get there before the dinner rush at 7:00 and we were successful). Our waitress/server was very friendly and attentive as well....took our order for drinks and returned darn quick. If only the food was as good as the service there would be 5-stars awarded for this restaurant. I ordered, as an appetizer, the Calamari...bad choice! The dish was piled high so no problem with quantity. But, it had absolutely NO taste....in my opinion it was something they had purchased at Sam's Club as a frozen bag, pre-breaded and dumped into the fryer. Not even the marinara sauce which was alson totally bland helped. I took about three bites and had our waitress remove it from the table (as well as our final bill). For my entree I ordered a crab & lobster pasta described as big chunks of lobster & crab served over a bed of pasta with craem/garlic sauce. Sounds good doesn't it? WRONG!!! The sauce was quite good but again, the crab (I highly suspect it was the "artificial" crab meat) and the lobster was tough and rubbery with no taste whatsoever. Lastly for desert I order the chocolate cake ....another bad move on my part but highly recommended by the young lady who waited on us. The cake was cold, dry and tasted as if it had been uncovered in their refrigerator for days. As stated earlier, we were very disappointed in the food served here. The ambiance is quite nice and service wonderful. Gee, now if they could get the food act together they might have a great place to eat!
