“First B&B stay and first trip to Jefferson”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2011

I was going to be in nearby Longview, Tx, so I googled to find an interesting town nearby to visit and found Jefferson. I had been wanting to try out a B&B, and after searching this site, I decided on the Azalea Inn. I and my best friend had a great 2-night stay. We stayed in the West Room, which is at the front of the house; it was very comfortable and clean. The house is one of the prettiest in Jefferson in my opinion. It has beautiful outdoor areas and enough parking space for guests. We went in December, so the temperatures were too cool for us to sit on the porch or patio, but they were still very welcoming. Sam and Valerie are very geniune and gracious hosts. We felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was divine and we both got the cookbook.

Room Tip: We stayed in the West room, which faces the street. Sam and Valerie provided earplugs because there...

Second stay at Azalea Inn, both times to celebrate our anniversary. We like the charming coziness of The West room. The breakfasts are superb, so much so we purchased 'Our First Cookbook' in hopes of sharing some of Valerie's wonderful food with family and friends. B&B's offer breakfast but few with the personal touch of bringing it to your room. Don't allow having only 3 rooms cause you to question whether to book a room. Value, intimacy and comfort abound, nothing is spared. Valerie and Sam have now added a beautifully decorated parlor for a perfect get-a-way from the world's fast pace. Visiting quaint Jefferson is an added plus to your stay at the Azalea Inn, not the other way around.

Room Tip: The West room is the smallest and only room we have stayed in. We like cozy, so it seems perfect fo...

My husband and I went to Jefferson, Texas for a get-away weekend for just the two of us before the chaos of school started back. I researched several B & B's in the town before settling on the Azalea Inn. I loved everything about the description -- the house, the history, its location, and the promise of an amazing breakfast. Well, the Azalea Inn delivered on the description and then some! The house was utterly charming -- we stayed in the Perry room, which had a wonderful tie to the family, being named after the owner's great great grandfather Cicero Rufus Perry who served Texas from 1835 to 1880 as a Texas Ranger. It was wonderfully decorated with the perfect mix of history and new technologies and amenities. It was a great location -- within easy walking distance of the historic downtown. But perhaps my favorite part of the Azalea Inn was Valerie's AMAZING breakfasts!! The portions were so generous and it was all homemade -- nothing out of a toaster oven or microwave here! Everything thing she made was absolutely delicious!! You can tell she loves to cook. And to top it all off, she delivered it to our room every morning. Made us feel so pampered!! We loved the Azalea Inn and will definitely be back to visit Sam and Valerie again!

Room Tip: Loved the Perry room -- attached to the main house, but away from the other rooms, so it was very qu...

My very recent husband and I just returned from our honeymoon in quaint Jefferson, TX, and couldn't have been happier with our lodging at the lovely Azalea Inn. What a gracious hostess, such beautiful and tranquil surroundings, and the breakfast will blow you away. We love that this b&b only has three rooms so it's very peaceful - we felt as if it were our very own home. We had hoped to get the Perry room because it has it's own private entrance but as it was booked we ended up staying in the West room and were just as happy - we had the front porch to ourselves so it was still as private as could be, and we also enjoyed the peace of sitting on the patio in the amazingly-landscaped back yard. Thank you, Valerie, for taking such good care of us! We will be back for our one-year anniversary!

We enjoyed our stay at the Azalea Valentine Room. The owner operators were very kind and welcoming making us aware of all that was available to us.They had plenty of hand outs and menus to help us decide what to do while in town. The rooms were decorated nicely and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. The only one issue we had was the room was hard to get dark due to some outdoor lighting. The property is very beautiful and maintained nicely. The breakfasts prepared and served by our host both mornings were AWESOME!!

Room Tip: Set up reservations in advance

We have visited this B&B for 8 years now. The rooms are just perfect! You can enjoy your breakfast in a large "keeping room" with a fireplace, or are the beautiful patio with fountains and all of the amazing flowers. You may also have your breakfast in the privacy of your room! The breakfast is just amazing!..Chocolate French Toast, Hash Brown Casserole.. Sedona Hash Brown Casserole is my favorite... it just goes on and on.. We have already booked the rooms for the fall.. Cannot wait!!!

My wife and I have been visiting this b&b for several years, and it's become a 2nd home for us. We go in the spring, and fall every year, to unwind and re-charge the batteries. Sam and Val have created an outstanding experience for all to enjoy. The house is beautiful, and the gardens well kept. The rooms are, clean, spacious, comfortable, and when you walk in the front door, the aroma is inviting. A few things are for sure, you will be greeted with a smile upon arrival, and you will be absolutely blown away by the breakfast, which you can have in the privacy of your own room if you wish. The Azalea Inn is perfect for a couples retreat, sit with your friends in the common room and visit, relax, and enjoy all the inn has to offer.

Room Tip: The Perry room is my favorite
