“Very Nice Hotel - Disappointing Booking Practice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

I booked a reservation at the Element DFW North hotel a month in advance and was looking forward to my family's stay there, prior to an early departure at DFW the next morning. Although I had reserved, and fully paid for in-advance, a suite with two queen-size beds, I was informed by the desk clerk upon my arrival that they didn't have any rooms available with two queen beds and consequently they assigned me (and my family) to a one-room suite with one king-size bed and a fold-out sofa bed. Although she tried to convince me that "it's a very nice sofa bed," it wasn't. It was a standard small sofa bed with the typical thin mattress, which we had to set-up ourselves. Granted, the Element hotel was very clean and very well furnished, but with only two of the four of us able to get a good night's rest after a very long day, the overall experience was disappointing. In summary, the hotel itself is very nice and I would definitely recommend it to others, but would also recommend that if/when you book a reservation, you check in with them periodically before your arrival to confirm that you'll get the type room you booked.

Large suite hotel room, well fitted kitchen area, relaxing area and very comfortable beds. Large bathroom with shower. Nicely furnished. Excellent for a stop over between flights. The shuttle is excellent just call the hotel when collecting baggage and they will pick you up within 15 minutes. Then use the shuttle for nearby shopping or visiting a local restaurant. The hotel recommendations were excellent.

Nice new hotel. Has a fresh, open, airy feel. Almost boutiquey vibe going on. Lots of food options within walking distance. Love that they have bikes for guests to use, but the weather didn't allow for a ride during my stay. Impressive breakfast for not being a full on buffet and cute happy/reception hour, both gratis :) The staff is young and sweet, but maybe need a little more seasoning. The first night we were clearly booked by a training facility (ie, we are old) and we had a large group of teens on our floor. I realized this after midnight with crazy running up and down the hall. Got a good look at them at breakfast and they were a BIG group. Perhaps put the teens together and keep the old fogies separated. Also, I may have missed something because the availability of outlets IN THE ROOM was limited. I've stayed at places with built in power strips in the desk for instance. There were two double outlets in the bathroom, but steaming electronic and having them so close to the sink...not so much. Aside from these slight problems, I would definitely stay here again. Solid hotel and experience.

This is a new hotel brand by Westin. First time we have stayed here and we were very impressed. The rooms are large and our regular room had a microwave, fridge, sink, plus glasses and plates and eating utensils. The beds were very comfortable and there was ample seating. There is a work station and plenty of closet space, and a safe. The best thing I like about it is that is has ample electrical outlets so you can charge all your electronics at once. They served a very healthy breakfast with the usual of biscuits and gravy, omelets, pancakes, and eggs. They also serve smoothies, yogurt, and cereal. This hotel is a great value for the money.

I stayed here for 3 months on bussines purpose and it is a good place to stay . Location is nearby different food stablishment - , macdo , maclister , indian cafe etc , so very convinient if u want to eat out ... Also they have breakfast and a happy hour dinner which is somehow very decent and just good for complementary ... The people working there are so accomodating , approachable and very kind ... They make u feel at home , receptionist - tom, tony, Diana and elaina are great ..... This is my place away from my home ...

Depending on what you are looking for this place could be great. However, I gave it an average rating because it wasn't what I was looking for.
Pro's
Very clean
Friendly staff
Eco friendly
Has full sized fridge
Has microwave
Has dishes and full kitchenette with counter and two stools
Fairly functional
Fairly quiet
Complimentary happy hour beer and wine
Comfortable bed!

Con's
Very small!
Feels like you are at IKEA
Too much furniture, feels claustrophobic
Blinds on window still let light in
Not cozy
NO BATHTUB
NO Jacuzzi
No soft lighting in bathroom-can you say BRIGHT??!!
No shower curtain, just full glass, not even frosted, so no shower privacy if someone needs to use sink, mirror, or toilet
Water pressure minimal

Be careful you don't misunderstsnd when they say "living area" there is no living area in studio, bed is almost touching the couch. If you want a separate bedroom be sure and specify that!

As you can see there's nothing majorly wrong with this place. You can be comfortable if you are only here for business or a few days and not in the room a lot. But I wanted to relax and sit in a warm bathtub or jacuzzi and hang out in the room while hubby was at business meetings. This was not the place for that. It wasn't a great value either. Cost us as much as the Hilton on lake Hubbard which was way more comfortable, plus had jacuzzi and lake view on your own private porch.

But It is very clean and nice staff!!
