Ok, so to right size my preference, I think you need to understand my preferences in hotels. I don't need a four seasons, but nice hotels do make me happy. I can stay in little cheap motels, but I can't stand if they stink and are just horrible. So, I would just say, I am super comfortable and happy at any average 'middle-class' hotel. I am not super picky, but when a hotel does little extra things, I do notice and appreciate them.
So on to review...
I thought the Wyndham was overall a very nice hotel. Pulling up in a car the grounds were very nice. The parking was adequate, etc. Walking in, the front desk folks were very helpful. I was a little bit later in evening, so it wasn't busy. They got me on my way to the room immediately. The elevators were fairly slow, but got me there lol.
I thought the room was very comparable to most hotels as far as size and layouts The awesome thing about these rooms is there were multiple electric outlets. More to plug my phone/computer/etc in. Nice work. The beds were very comfortable, and they had heavy blankets on them. Four pillows on each. I was in heaven with the comfort of the beds. Can get the room REALLY dark with curtains. Loved it. Had a LOT of room in dresser for clothes, like 6 full size drawers. Widescreen tv, desk ....oh and FREE INTERNET with about 3mbps download speed. Nice touch!!!! Bathrooms have typical things, coffee, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, kind of wish they had shower gel, but they didn't. They had plentiful towels on two nights I was there, but on one night, they didn't stock me up with towels. Not a big complainer, but I noticed. Alarm clock was weird, had huge blue face on it that wouldn't turn off. Didn't bug me because I was comfy, but it might bug someone out there. They also had a pretty cool 'internet chair' in there. It was a more comfortable chair that was plugged into wall. It was just intended to have like a desk on each arm, that you could kick back and work with your laptop there. I didn't use it. I just used the desk, but it was a cool idea. Very clean room by the way too.
I think the only thing that I had a problem with was there was only one place to get ice in the building, and unfortunately, my room was FAR away from it. For example, I was on 3rd floor on far east side of building. To get ice, I had to get out of my room, walk all the way down the hall, down the elevator, down the other hall going to lobby, actually through the lobby in front of everyone, through hall to other side of building, around corner, and there was ice machine. Of course I brought my actual trash can with me, because ice bucket in room was tiny....could probably hold maybe two pop cans, or one bottle of wine. Anwyay, of course that means on way back everyone is just watching you carry your trash can all that way back. And I don't know about you, but sometimes, I just need ice to keep my water bottles cold at night, and it's cool when you can go in pjs to something that is maybe four doors down where you are at on same floor.
One other thing is the air conditioner. It tended to be a little loud. It cracked and sounded like someone was trying to open your front door. Then it would be on fairly loud.
I am really biased. With the comfortable bed and the darkness of the room I was in heaven. So, I would overall say except for the ice thing, I was in heaven there. I love to sleep comfortable, and it made the world of difference.
Try to get a room on the South side of the building. That is where the ice machine is.
