I had a weekend convention at the Omni Mandalay recently. While I did not stay at the hotel, I ate at Trevi's a few times, simply because I was so busy and could not get away for lunch or dinner. Lunch was a good experience, I had a dog with me that I could not leave alone, so I and some work colleagues ended up eating outside. Our server, Gustavo, was excellent and took very good care of us. Dinner, on the other hand, was a nightmare... We go down to the restaurant and immediately we get attitude because of our dog. One of the servers tells us that we cannot eat outside with our dog because it is a food service area. I explained that we had lunch there with no problem and the guy mumbled something about having to check with the manager or something. The manager "gave approval" and we take out seat outside. We are the only ones on the patio, and were enjoying a very nice setting after a long day setting up for the convention. Our server, Muhammad, comes up and asks what we want to drink. He is oozing attitude all over the place and my wife, a very astute person at reading people, picks up on it. She asks what the selection of flavored Italian Sodas are and the guy says, in a very short, almost annoyed tone, "You can just look on the menu." That was the start... My wife said that since he obviously didn't want to take the time to tell him what the options were she would just have to look for something else. One of the work colleagues asked for a mixed rink that was not on the menu and Mohammad said "Well, we don't have 20,000 different flavors back in the kitchen, so you can't do that." Strike 2. At this point we asked him if it was a problem that we were sitting outside to which he said "No, we are just really busy inside." Strike 3. At that point we couldn't take it any more and asked for a different server. The manager, Victor came out and apologized for the problem and offered to take care of our dinner. We obliged, but the point was moot because we had some vouchers from our convention. Victor realized we had vouchers and asked if we would come back the next night, which we agreed to do. Upon getting to the restaurant the next evening we told the hostess the situation and she was very happy to seat us. She had all of the information and sat us very quickly. I told her that we did not want the same server as we had the night before. She said that we would not have the same server... Well, Mohammad was our server again... He did not offer any kind of apology for his action the night before and still had an arrogance about him, as if he were better than us and we were inconveniencing him be being there. This time we ate inside rather than outside. The food itself was not flavored as much as I would have liked. Our salad was ok, but the pasta that I ordered did not have any kind of flavor.
I do not recommend Trevi's to anyone, and unless I have no option whatsoever, I will not be dining at Trevi's ever again, and I will tell people not to dine there anymore there either...
Mohammad is completely unprofessional, rude and just not nice. It's a stark contrast to the rest of the hotel staff, who bent over backwards to help us out with the event. I love the hotel, and the people are amazing, but Mohammad, at Trevi's is not.

Thank you very much for letting us know about your experience in Trevi's. We are very sorry for this unfortunate situation, and I have forwarded this along to our executive team to ensure that this is addressed with all the people involved. We understand that this experience is not up to the standards of both our restaurant as well as our hotel, and we would love for you to join us again to see that this is not our normal experience. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you soon.
