“Wonderful Memories”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night in the treehouse at Tranquil in September and we both agreed that it is one of the most magical places either of us has ever been too. Gorgeous accommodations and delicious food aside, we were equally impressed by the genuine warmth of the hospitality we received. We were made to feel like honored guests, not customers or tourists and felt completely at home, if home were a whimsical treehouse out of a children's fairytale with a mysteriously refilling cookie jar.

My wife and I had an amazing time at Tranquil during our honeymoon. We loved the plantation and the impeccably kept gardens and flowers, the food, the swimming pool, the walks in the property and the service. We had a great time discussing with our lovely hosts during the meals.
We were very sad to leave the place. We would absolutely recommend it to friends and family for a stay in Wayanad.

I have read all the glowing reports of Tranquil and agree with them. The place is lovely, the food is great. I loved the drinks at 8 pm, and the personal touch of the owners. Nothing was too much trouble. I arrived with a stomach complaint that doctors had chucked antibiotics at previously in a rather perfunctory fashion, but with no success. Jini discretely and helpfully had a stool test done and got her doctor to give me the correct drugs based on the stool test results (I had amoebic dysentery). It was all done very swiftly. And I began to get better. I hsd been feeling to weak that the idea of locating another doctor seemed exhausting. The very deft way that she helped was worth pearls. And the dogs are great. I was very touched, one day, when the boxer tried to take me for a walk by pulling my dress. Writing this, I very much miss the drinks in the evening, with very lovely canapes.

True to it's name Tranquil is set in a placid, serene and scenic coffee Estate. You arrive there expecting a regular hussel & bussel of checking into a resort but to your surprise you are welcomed with warmth and cordiality of the hosts. The phrase 'feel at home' is taken quite literally at Tranquil, the ever smiling faces of the family are genuinely happy to share their home and lives with the guests.
The unique combination of luxury and rustic wilderness of the tree villa makes u feel at home instantly, leaving you with only one thing to do, soak in the natural beauty that stretches as far as you can see. The long treks taken in the company of Shadow and Sparkles were the highlight of our trip, barring the cries of our lazy urban bodies these strolls leave you revitalised and charged to the very depth of your soul. Dining is a feast prepared at home, exactly the way we prefer.

Overall a perfect getaway, a place where you get ample of space and privacy with equal doses of great company of the extraordinary Tranquil family.

Would go back to India for this Hotel alone! As my wife continues to say it was here we really felt we were on Honeymoon. Victor and Ajay were brilliant hosts from welcoming us as if part of their family and treating us as such throughout our stay. Our rooms were top class, they surprised us with a candle lit dinner on the first night as it was our honeymoon and the food and service were amazing. The walking paths had a great range from easy to hard, the three dogs extremely friendly and whole atmosphere was relaxing. Will definately be going back

first thoughts - not so good -
where was the welcome drink
and a bloodied dog..with a leech up its nose...welcomed us..there are 3 dogs but luckily kept out of our way once they realise
you are not a doggy person
Pool area ..pleasant with sunbeds albeit plastic

they were overbooked so had to have the large room with living area _which we did not use
had no need of really it was huge
however we had a private garden with hammock - however outsidechairs were dirty and no table
but our own private lawn area
Lack of attention to detail..and bathroom need of a makeover especially seeing the cost of the room

Had to wait until eve for tea tray/kettle to be provided even tho we asked

Internet charges ridiculous

Host very friendly and nice to interact at meals with other guests
and gradually warmed towards the family

Meals good ...however only 1 choice of dessert

once it was sago!!!!! come on thats school dinner stuff

the other a sponge pudding - hardly enought to go round

breakfast s quite good with nice bread
and the table laid out quite lovely in the verandah area with nice napkins etc

the plantation was good for walks but you need good shoes as very stoney paths
but as retirees in our mid sixties ..found it no real problem and the views were great
altho some steep climbs

The tree house looks good but always reserved
Dinner is quite late at 8.30 but drinks beforehand are given outside by the host
altho quite pricey
and a lovely wood fire..(it was Jan)
but found staff refilling water bottles with water(from where?)

(nothing much else of any interest really in the area)

we would recommend with reservations..the place get better as the host gets to know you and the group...it is a very pleasant house party atmosphere in the evenings

would still recommend as an unique set up

I have rated this 3/4 star but somehow stuck on 5 star can it be changed

Room Tip: no need to pay out for suite room unless you have a large family group tree house superb
