The Sam Houston giant of a statue proves that everything is indeed bigger in Texas. I first caught a glimpse of this while driving North on the 45 and thought to myself, "What on earth?" It looked like a giant man was about to cross all lanes of traffic.
What's cool about it is that it makes for an interesting roadside attraction. I've done my share of driving all over the US and this is by far the largest interest piece so far.
However, once the initial moment when you are briefly captivated by the enormity of the towering monument fades, there is little else to capture your whimsy. It's worth a look a d perhaps a nice angled shot, but don't expect to make a day trip out of it.
