“Wonderful family get away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

We visited for two nights at their Parkers Crossing cabin with our two girls, 8 and 5 yrs old. The place was wonderful and Jolene and Tim were so delightful. Jolene was accommodating in her cooking and the breakfast was five star. Their garden was beautiful and peaceful. Our girls loved playing on the swings and helping Jolene with her gardening. We spent a day the Daingerfield State Park, which as a short drive away. Not too many B&B welcome children. Holly Hill Homestead B&B not only welcomes them, but Jolene and Tim each also personally made them feel quite at home. Perfect family B&B in east Texas.

We stayed at Holly Hills in the main house for 2 nights. We found Jolene & Tim to be wonderful host, they provided a quite relaxing atmosphere. The Ladybird room did not have a bath directly attached to it but it was just down the hall & very private. Everything was clean & well organized. Tim & Jolene were very accommodating & provided all we needed for a relaxing stay. A full breakfast was provided each morning & quite delicious. We hope to return in the future .

Room Tip: Ladybird room right off front door

Our Grands Group just stayed this past weekend at the Cabin. There were 5 of us and we enjoyed our time there so much! Tim and Jolene made our stay even more special with their personal attention to detail and getting to know them was a delight. Jolene pampered us when we arrived and we loved having her visit with us too! We would all recommend Holly Hill to others wanting a perfect getaway.

Room Tip: The tin roof of the cabin is great when it rains!

Holly Hill Homestead is a unique get-a-way in more ways than one. Not only do they have the most charming bed and breakfast around but the best food, the most interesting garden paths, peacocks, chickens and lots of old fashioned things to look at. My husband and I go here for her "drop in" Wednesday lunch. Jolene fixes whatever is in season and whatever fits her mood. Even though it is hidden in the woods and four miles from the nearest town, there are always 10 or more people at her casual kitchen table and dining on the porches, often friends who have come from various directions to "meet in the middle". Jolene will also fix special meals by reservation on other days or evenings.

We have never spent the night but have talked to guests who were there while we were. The consensus is top notch all the way. Jolene is a fabulous cook and she and her husband Tim are delightful hosts.

Room Tip: If you are really private people, choose the cabin for a unique, charming stay. It has a shower but...

We stayed in Tim & Jolene's cabin this time. The cabin is so beautiful. Jolene's personal touches are throughout!

The food was fantastic as always! We had a wonderful time talking with Tim & Jolene. Besides the beauty and the peacefulness of staying at Holly Hill, the time spent with our host and hostess was oh!, so blessed!!!

We are so happy that you enjoyed staying at Parkers Crossing Cabin. It's fun to share it with folks like you who appreciate a comfortable and relaxing stay. It humbles me that people enjoy my style of cooking and our homey, grandma-style kitchen. We are thankful when couples like you return year after year for their anniversary weekend. Thanks for the sweet words!

I have yet to stay at a B&B with as much detail, heart, and comfort as Holly Hill. Jolene was such a kind and welcoming host. The gardens are just beautiful and so calming. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the B&B. Thank you Jolene, for everything, especially the delicious breakfast! I can't wait to own a B&B of my very own and would love to mirror it after yours!

I remember our talks about you wanting to own a B&B one day. Your dream is sure to come true and maybe even at Holly Hill when we are too old for this "spoiling of people". We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay; what a fun weekend with all of you. You indicated that you would not recommend to a friend. Was this a mistake on your post? If not, please tell us why so we can make any corrections needed. What an honor that you would like to mirror a B&B after ours. Thanks

This is by far one of the best places that I have had the pleasure of staying. Jolene is a bright and wonderful person. She makes some of the best food that I have ever tasted. I would recommend Holly Hill Homestead to anyone that needed to take a moment to recharge their battery or just needed to be at peace with the world around them. I cannot wait for the opportunity to go back.

Your words are so kind. I loved how you describe food and think you should be a traveling food critic. Creamy, frothy, cold, and yummy something to drink? So happy that you liked your Orange Julius Jolene's way. Have a wonderful summer and do come back soon, you were a charming guest.
