“Deceiving KOA”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2009

This KOA advertises it is clean and shows pretty photos, its all a lie, there is a torn up pool the maintenance was all weeds and a few flowers, the showers were not clean mold every where and roaches in the Kabins. We ended up leaving there and will never go back !!! This is not a typical KOA and is not ran by Americans.

This KOA is centrally located in Houston, between the 610 and Beltway loops. It is clean and the owners are friendly. The camp store was stocked with basics like ice and milk, but did not have much else. There is, however, a dollar store, drug store, and grocery store within a mile drive. The pool is average size and also clean. I ended up staying in a kabin, which was average for such things. The RV sites had concrete runners for the tires and were grass elsewhere. There were almost no trees except by the kabins and the outer perimeter. There are a few restaurants within a mile, but you must go in concentric circles to find them as nothing is in the immediate area. This is because it is in a semi-residential area. If you are looking for a quiet place to make your base in Houston with your RV, this is a good choice.

I originally went with plans to tent. I do NOT recommend this campground for tenting. The tenting sites are the outside perimeter and the lowest area of the camp. They were underwater due to rain when I went. They looked like they would be underwater with even the smallest amount of rain.

  • Disliked — Tenting section was underwater
