We just stayed here while my son had surgery had Texas Children's Hospital. The best thing about the hotel is location. For the money, the rooms are clean, free internet access and free parking. Just know that you get NO service whatsoever. To get someone to pick up the phone at the front desk, we actually had to use our cell phone because they would answer an outside line, but not one from the room. There is only one coke machine in the whole place and it was broken. I would stay there again when my son goes back for future treatments because it is so convenient to the hospital, but that is pretty much the only reason.

The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable, the free breakfast is plentiful, unless you are looking for bacon and eggs, and the location is excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable about local restaurants and attractions, and it was all helped along by beautiful weather!

I paid $91.50 / night booking direct with Best Western, the local trams are just over the next road, and Rice University, Rice Village (with a great branch of Half Price Books and Jambo Juice) and Hermann Park are within easy and pleasant walking distance.

This hotel isn't four-star, but it offers clean, comfortable rooms, free parking, and free breakfast (waffles made-to-order from a waffle maker, yogurt, cereal, etc.). It's an ideal location for visiting Houston's Museum District, approximately 0.2 miles away. A friend and I stayed at the Best Western for 2 nights and visited the Houston Museum of Fine Art, the Menil Museum, the Cy Twombly Museum, and the new Houston Contemporary. Great restaurants can be found nearby on Montrose Street. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for safe, economical travel.

Will stay here again for our daughter's next medical appointment.

Why:
1.Location location location. We were able to walk to her appointment
at Children's Hospital as well as take the streetcar to the Rodeo. (Yeah, Rodeo!)
2.Let us keep our car parked here until after our daughter's late afternoon appointment the next day. Saved us the $8-$10 we usually pay for parking at the hospital.
3.Fridge and microwave in room.
4.Free parking.
5.Comfy room overall.
6.Surprisingly quiet.

Annoyances:
1.Towels were horrible -- thin and scratchy.
2.Free breakfast was barely okay. I realize most hotels do not provide breakfast, but I kept thinking, "Hey, take another $5 from me and make it better." Cheerios and milk were about the best thing, The blueberry bagels were yucky.
3. Annoying stunts (i.e. turn off lights) to make guests leave breakfast room at 9:30 AM.

Has a medical rate, but will not honor it during the Rodeo.
