Hotel is aging a bit but they have done an excellent job keeping the place well maintained. Room was spotless, large, and quite nice. Keep in mind the hostile weather of Houston and you'll appreciate the condition even more.
Had a snafu with Microsoft registering our rooms properly but the hotel manager, John, came to the rescue and solved what could have been a nightmare of a situation. John and the rest of his staff did such a great job that I would not stay anywhere else in Houston on future visits.
Restaurant was good, bar was good (quiet and easy to have a conversation) and the $7 cab fares to anywhere downtown should make you consider skipping the rental car altogether.
One of the elevators acted 'funny' on me twice which caused me to only ride the elevator on the right for the rest of my stay. But we did see elevator repair there later in the week so once again, they were on top of things.
Only suggestion I would make is that they need to wash the exterior windows which were in pretty bad shape.
