I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a corp. conference. The venue is perfect for the many conferences weddings and bar mitvas that go on there: nice facilities and great service.

The hotel's common rooms have the feel of a gentlemen's club with stuffed animals mounted on the walls, but the rooms have neutral decor and most windows actually touch the trees in a forest, giving the room the feel of a cozy tree house. (This, however, makes mobile phone access from rooms tricky). There's a spa, two pools, a nice jogging track and health club. There's a free shuttle leaving every 1.5 hours to and from the Galleria shopping area-- but you have to tell the valet or concierge you wish to take it.

There is free cable and WIFI Internet access in the rooms. The rooms are reasonably sized but not huge. The bathrooms are small and the shower heads just let out a trickle of water. The hairdryer is a small, travel size one. The food in the restaurant is good but the menu is small. They have 24 hour room service.

The conference faciilties are excellent. Comfy chairs and flat screen pasma video screens in each conf. room. We had a choice of three dishes for lunch we had to order in advance and got our meals delivered in an adjacent conf. room. A butler was constantly bringing in snacks and drinks throughout the day.

The staff are excellent. The receptionist and bellboy remembered my name throuohout my stay. The receptionist even came running out to offer me a bottle of water when he saw me waiting for the shuttle outside. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

One last short trip with our two children (plus our newborn). Our two night stay from start to finish was top notch! Rooms are clean and very comfortable. The crib arrived shortly after we arrived and included an assortment of complimentary bath goodies for our baby, Sara. Recommend staying on the consciere floor. They offer breakfast in the morning, snacks (self-serve bar) in the afternoon, and a dessert hour in the evening- everyday. Also, the pool area for the kids was top notch. They loved the waterslide and the waterfalls. We ordered room service for dinner one night and it was wonderful. The staff was always attentive. One night our son left a toy in the lounge but we didn't realize it until the next day. We ask the front desk and they had it for him.

  • Liked — Beautiful atmophere and excellent service
  • Disliked — Paying for parking, but everyone charges for it.

Visited this incredible hotel, and grounds, for a conference in may 2007. Beautiful and spacious rooms with comfortable appointments. Was pleased with all aspects of my stay. If you are at all fitness oriented, take your workout gear with you. Great jogging trails, nice pools, good equipment facility.

I would compare this hotel favorably with any Ritz. Good golf within 20 minute drive, decent nightlife within a 5 minute cab ride. Staff could have been a bit more attentive, but all in all an excellent hotel and would highly recommend a stay here.

The Houstonian hotel is a great hotel to stay in Houston. It is near the Galleria, but away from the traffic and crazyness. If you like plants and foliage, then this is the place for you! The best part of the hotel is the customer service. The people there are sooo helpful and always willing to go above and beyond. I went there with my mom and we were treated like royalty. The pools are really nice too. If you want some seclusion, I recommend the garden pool off to the side. The resort pool is good if you have kids. The rooms are really nice and the beds are very, very comfy. This is the only hotel I've been in that puts four pillows on the bed and pillows are very important to me! The bathrooms have marble countertops and the tub is spacious. I would def stay at this hotel again!!

We went to Houston for a wedding held at the Houstonian and were extremely happy with all of the accomodations. The fitness center, pools, and spa made me feel like I was staying at a resort or on my honeymoon again. The spa was absolutely amazing and the massage was definitely worth the $100.00. I would definitely stay there again. The hotel restaurant was expensive but the cafe in the fitness center provided affordable and very healthy options. It's great for health-conscious vacationers.
