“Fine Texas Luxury”

This hotel sets the standard of fine Texas luxury. The grounds are lush and the room decor is right out of the best decorator magazines and include pod coffeemakers. The pools are brilliant. They were doing work to complete a new outdoor deck when we visited. The onsite restaurant was spectacular for afternoon coffee and morning breakfast. Restaurant service could have been a little better, but didn't take away from our overall experience. Highly recommend staying here. Perfect location for a wedding reception.

Stayed at the hotel for three nights and enjoyed it. The bedroom was very nice with good facilities, however the bathroom let the room down for a hotel of this standard. It was very cramped and a little dated.
Breakfast was good, although expensive, especially if a cooked dish is selected from the menu. We went to the bar, which again, was expensive for what it was, especially fish and chips - stick with the burger if you are eating here.
The leisure facilities are great, I only tried the pools of which there were three - all very nice and well maintained - a great area to relax and also to do some serious swimming if that is your want! I didn't try the gym or spa facilities.
All in all, a good experience, just watch that bill as it soon mounts up here!

Room Tip: Beware - Some of the rooms have a long walk from reception!

I stayed here multiple times, and it's in a gorgeous, large park, centrally located in Houston. The adjoining gym is out of this world - not sure if gym is really the right word, its more like fitness center mega complex.

The rooms unfortunately could use updating, but the gym, beautiful wooded location and service more than make up for it.

I've stayed here on many occasions now. The Houstonian has a comfortable colonial feel to it which means that a business trip quickly becomes a more pleasurable experience. The rooms can feel a little dark because of the tall trees outside, but are comfortable and nicely decorated.
Staff are attentive and the bar and restaurant are top quality.
The best part is the multi-pool spa on site, which in the warm weather quickly eases theaches and stresses of the road to get to The Houstonian

Love this hotel/resort. It really is much more than a hotel. Sadly I was only here for one night, it would be great for a few days to try out all the amenities. The decor is classic, lots of hardwood. It reminds me of a lodge because it has a huge central fireplace in the lobby. Rooms are great, very comfortable. I didn't get to try the pool, but the pictures look pretty awesome. Great stay for the money. Oh, the steak sandwich on the restaurant is pretty great too!

This is a beautiful hotel with old world charm, quite and peaceful hidden away from all the Houston traffic. We were greeted with friendly, fast and efficient staff upon check in while visiting for a wedding reception at the hotel ballroom this weekend. We had so many out of town family members at this hotel and everyone loved it, beds were comfortable and cozy. The only issues we had was the view outside our window were vines and trees and the small bathroom. Although this hotel is hard to find, we used a navigating system to find it, this will be a definite hotel to return to every time we are in Houston.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a nicer view.

Very pretty location. Lovely older property with nice rooms. Good service. Attended a business meeting. Food served by catering was excellent. Incredible stone fireplace in the lobby. Rooms have great beds.
