OK, let's start off how we should -- with the positives. As others have said, and really goes without question, this is a nice, well-appointed, very clean newer suite room that is sure to please just about anyone, especially when booked through and at the price this room can often be found on Hotwire. So that being said, two things bothered me, one a bit more than the other. I will let you decide -- for you -- which that is.

1) A missing VIP toiletry item: No, not shampoo or conditioner or the like, but maybe the most important of all -- this category's namesake... paper. At the critical moment, you reach, you look... nothing. You curse yourself for not noticing beforehand as you improvise. I understand that mistakes are made, but this can be (and was) a critical one, and has, in hundreds of hotel/motel stays, never happened to me until now.

2) Ordered an expensive bourbon neat in the lobby bar (which as they come, was for some reason I can't put my finger on, quite depressing), and was served what could subjectively be called a very exacting portion in what could ONLY be called an extremely dirty (in multi-hues) glass. When I politely pointed this out, the bartender got a clean glass, and started to pour the drink from one to the other. Yea. So when I slightly less-than politely balked, he (while nervously looking over his shoulder) poured another one that could have been a 4th grade lesson in surface tension out of that jigger. What bothered me most (aside from the attempted dirty-to-clean transfer) was that he conveyed a management dictate that it was more important to keep costs inline than make good on/make up for a mistake -- and show a bit of love in the process. The bartender seemed more concerned about controlling portion size than the hideously soiled glass.

As I always say, YMMV.

Nice hotel convenient to Houston Galleria. Easy check in and garage parking. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Booked through Hotwire for $80 or so. Great deal. Will definitely return.

I booked this hotel via hotwire for $80. For the price it was an amazing stay. Huge rooms (every room is a suite... obviously), great bathrooms, etc. This hotel was extremely clean, huge fitness center, great restaurant, and so on. The concierge service provides free transportation to the Galleria or anywhere with in several miles. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone.

Our family stayed at this property Aug. 2- Aug. 4, 2007. The room was large and more than ample enough for my wife, and I, and our 3 1/2 year old daughter. There was a very comfortable king bed, and nice sized sitting area. The decor was very contemporary. Large vanity area, with separate toilet/shower area. Sliding doors separated the bedroom from sitting area. There is a small wet bar sink, and small fridge. Extras included cribs, bathrobes, at no additional charge. There is however a $ 10.00 self-parking charge (daily). Valet is $ 20.00 - no worth it because parking garage (3 story) is connected to main hotel.

Staff was very attentive to small problems with our stay: 1) T.V. in bedroom not working - repaired in 15 minutes by courteous engineer. 2) Debris in swimming pool - cleaned in 10 minutes.

Very delicious breakfast (room service) and even received a follow up call if everything was satisfactory. Awesome pancakes!! There is a breakfast buffet ($ 14/pp), but children under 5 eat free. Very attentive wait staff, conceirge, and registration.

Only drawback was our view (3rd floor) faced the roof line of the restaurant / ballrooms on the first floor, but no noise was audible from the rooftop A/C's. Otherwise, very roomy, comfortable, and nicely appointed room. Swimming pool a little small (I think its called a "splash" pool), but no one except our little family used it during our stay (Thur. - Sat.)

Very close to Galleria Mall, Post Oak Blvd. area, etc. Right in the middle of it all. Hotel offers free shuttle to Galleria, however, we didn't use it.

Very excellent stay and would stay again using Hotwire. There was a slight odor of smoke (cigar?) in the hallway, but it appears that the hotel has been addressing the problem.

**TIPS***
The hotel entrance faces the frontage road to Loop 610 South. The only way ( I think) is to take the San Felipe Ave., exit and head south on the frontage road, move over to far right before the light @ Westheimer.

If you use room service for breakfast, just order one Full Breakfast - the servings were large enough for me, wife, and 3 year old. After gratuity, tax - $ 17.00

  • Liked — Ample size suites, great staff
  • Disliked — View of roof line of floor below

We just got back from a trip to Surfside Beach, TX and stopped in Houston to do some fun things. I got a great summer deal on the Sheraton website. We traveled with a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 month old and the suite was perfect. We were able to put the baby down to sleep in the very comfy complementary portable crib in the living area and close the doors while the rest of us were in the bedroom area. The baby slept great and was not disturbed by us at all. Everyone at the hotel was extremely nice. The food was good, but next time I think we will do room service instead of the buffet because we can't eat that much and the 2 1/2 year old behaves better in the room! We will look for Sheratons the next time we travel.
