OK, let's start off how we should -- with the positives. As others have said, and really goes without question, this is a nice, well-appointed, very clean newer suite room that is sure to please just about anyone, especially when booked through and at the price this room can often be found on Hotwire. So that being said, two things bothered me, one a bit more than the other. I will let you decide -- for you -- which that is.
1) A missing VIP toiletry item: No, not shampoo or conditioner or the like, but maybe the most important of all -- this category's namesake... paper. At the critical moment, you reach, you look... nothing. You curse yourself for not noticing beforehand as you improvise. I understand that mistakes are made, but this can be (and was) a critical one, and has, in hundreds of hotel/motel stays, never happened to me until now.
2) Ordered an expensive bourbon neat in the lobby bar (which as they come, was for some reason I can't put my finger on, quite depressing), and was served what could subjectively be called a very exacting portion in what could ONLY be called an extremely dirty (in multi-hues) glass. When I politely pointed this out, the bartender got a clean glass, and started to pour the drink from one to the other. Yea. So when I slightly less-than politely balked, he (while nervously looking over his shoulder) poured another one that could have been a 4th grade lesson in surface tension out of that jigger. What bothered me most (aside from the attempted dirty-to-clean transfer) was that he conveyed a management dictate that it was more important to keep costs inline than make good on/make up for a mistake -- and show a bit of love in the process. The bartender seemed more concerned about controlling portion size than the hideously soiled glass.
As I always say, YMMV.
