The Omni Houston is like a star that is slowing dying: once a beautiful and brilliant star but now just a supernova eventually collapsing and falling apart. It used to be a former Four Seasons and probably was very stunning in design a long time ago... a very long time ago.
It is located closeby to the Galleria mega-mall but definitly not easily within reach especially since there is heavy construction along the way to the hotel. There are many other hotels in the area more accessible than the Omni.
The service was not worthy of the usual caliber of Omni Hotels in other cities. From check-in to room-service, the employees encountered were very short-tempered and definitely not looking forward to going any extra miles.
The rooms and guest areas of the hotel date themselves. The furnishings, interiors, and linens look worn and tired and in definite need of replacement. Not what you'd expect of a AAA Five-Diamond award hotel.
If you love the Holiday Inn chain, you'll love the Omni. But if it's luxury and finesse you're seeking, you're probably better off at the Intercontinental or Hotel Derek.
