The Omni Houston is like a star that is slowing dying: once a beautiful and brilliant star but now just a supernova eventually collapsing and falling apart. It used to be a former Four Seasons and probably was very stunning in design a long time ago... a very long time ago.

It is located closeby to the Galleria mega-mall but definitly not easily within reach especially since there is heavy construction along the way to the hotel. There are many other hotels in the area more accessible than the Omni.

The service was not worthy of the usual caliber of Omni Hotels in other cities. From check-in to room-service, the employees encountered were very short-tempered and definitely not looking forward to going any extra miles.

The rooms and guest areas of the hotel date themselves. The furnishings, interiors, and linens look worn and tired and in definite need of replacement. Not what you'd expect of a AAA Five-Diamond award hotel.

If you love the Holiday Inn chain, you'll love the Omni. But if it's luxury and finesse you're seeking, you're probably better off at the Intercontinental or Hotel Derek.

Everything abut the Omni is first class - from the helpful front desk staff to the traditionally elegant and comfortable rooms. First rate bath amenities are provided (including bathrobes), and the beds were good, though perhaps not up to the standards set by Westins. I'd stay here again, anytime.

Went last weekend to the Omni, first is not a 4 less a 5 star hotel. They only care for businessmen especially if they are japanese,( no offense).I went with my two daughters, and besides of being treated very cold by staff, they looked at my children like they were aliens. On top of everything is far from galleria( 7 miles). I preferred the Doubletree Suites or The Marriott, and they are not "5 stars" but they know how to treat there clients.

The only good thing I have to say is that the property was clean inside and out. Our room rate was $130 and I expected a 4 Star quality hotel (of which they are rated). The room looked just like a $70 per night Holiday Inn. We were there for a weekend away and I spent extra on a room expecting a very nice hotel. The bath tub was very small with all old water fixures and had an electrical outlet that was falling out of the wall. It was just nothing fancy about the place at all. Maybe my expectations were high since the photos on the internet were all beautiful - But in the end we were not impressed at all.

This is a former 4 seasons property (Four Seasons Inn on the Park) with a restaurant (La Reserve)formerly known as one of the best in the city. The hotel was an island of calm luxury in the midst of the largest one industry town in the world. Now its an Omni, 3.5 to 4 star, isolated in the lockdown traffic of a high-energy, multi-dimensional multi-cultural dynamo of a city. I had figured it would be a real bargain, given its past, but my recent stay proved a disappointment. Rooms are nice, service is ok, but the overall experience is one of isolation and expense account prices. The restaurant is just a hotel restaurant, only more expensive. Hotwire rate or not, the room service is high, soft drink machines non-existent, and parking a long trek. You can't walk anywhere(except to your car)and although the views of Memorial Park are great, You can't get anywhere from here without the long walk to the car, expensive valet, or cab. I know Houston. I'd have to agree with the reviewer who recommends the downtown boutique hotels; When it was the Inn on the Park, nobody cared how far everything was. But its an Omni. And you will.
