We were upgraded to the “penthouse” Hilton Honors floor. The VIP lounge was mostly out of commission, although the Hilton promises happy hours, breakfast, snacks, etc., but little to be found. A few cans of coke floating in water and cold coffee in pots. Very strange indeed, almost like a ghost town feel in the lounge, although there is a large plasma turned on, shedding the only light in an otherwise dark “lounge”.
The rooms are decent, but bathrooms (with low ceilings) need renovating. Internet was fine. Updated tvs would be nice. The painters and window washers were hard at work on the weekend, causing guests to park away from the building – next time renovate during your off-peak days guys, your hotel was “over-capacity” and parking and privacy were issues. The lake view is very nice.
The breakfast buffet was excellent once it was fully restocked. The restaurant service was above average. Manager was greeting guests and genuinely concerned.
The front desk was very “over the top” nice. They remembered guest’s names. They adjusted my bill without argument when I pointed out the wrong room rate at checkout. They booked me a taxi through Barbara, who was very courteous and punctual. Bellman were courteous as well. Keep up the good work guys.
