I stayed here during two business trips in 2007, and I thought it was great. It's a beautiful hotel with great service, upscale appearance, upscale guest rooms, and convenient location close to the expressway. They have great room service too, although it's a bit expensive.

As a female who often travels by herself on business, I want to stay somewhere where I feel safe, and this is a great hotel for that. Everyone who works here is very friendly, the rooms are very clean with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms, and the restaurant downstairs is great also. The overall interior appearance of the hotel and guest rooms is beautiful. The room rates are at a certain level which discourages guests who might be "questionable". I get a corporate rate which is about $100 less than the normal rate, so I can't complain.

Overall, it's quiet and clean with good service and very nice rooms. I would recommend it to any business traveler or anyone else who is traveling who wants a safe, quiet and more upscale hotel.

I just came back from our trip to Houston for my sweetheart's birthday. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we were beyond catered to by the entire staff. They even went so far as to have 2 roses placed on our pillows along with a chocolate cake & candles and chocolate covered strawberries on the bed in our room the day of my sweetheart's birthday. A complete shock to both he and I since I only mentioned that we were in town to celebrate his birthday to the someone at the desk during check-in. There was no charge for this unexpected treat. The hotel is beautiful. Very well kept and peaceful. I would highly recommend the Omni Westside for an excellent stay.

Travelled here for a business trip and enjoyed my stay. Restaurant was good but a bit pricey. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the location of the Hotel is central to most everything you want to see or do while on the west side of Houston. Only gripe I have is that the rooms/bathrooms are small for the price you pay.

From the very moment we arrived at the Omni the service was bad. First
there were no bellmen available and no offer was made to assist us with our luggage to our room, instead the desk clerk just pointed to a luggage cart and handed us our keys. Secondly we had booked a king room and were told non were available when we asked why she said
"their just aren't any do you want your room or not?" Had we not been there for a corporate function we would have left but this is where the company had booked us. We checked in early enough that I find it hard to believe that all the king rooms were taken already. finding your room is not easy either and no directions were offered.

Once we got there, are room was nice and I have no complaints about it accept that it wasn't what we booked.

THE REAL PROBLEM began the next morning. It seems that there was a water leak coming from our room and leaking into a meeting room downstairs. Aparrantly the problem had started the day before and they
knew it was coming from one of the rooms in that area but put people in them anyway. There was a knock at the door at 7 am when I answered it was a maintenance man saying I would need to leave the room as soon
as possible. They did not offer another room to me until I called the front desk and had to insist on one. I had just woken up and told them
I would get my stuff together and move to another room I did so within
a half hour but during that time I had two more knocks on the door and
a phone call wondering when I was going to be out. They finally and reluctantly moved me to a new room. I called the front desk and asked,
if under the circumstances I could get a late check out which they refused.

Since I had to leave my first room quickly I needed to repack our bags
for the airplane and of course shower etc. I decided the heck with it I will leave when I was ready and not a moment sooner! I checked out at 12:30 after two more phone calls asking when I was leaving and threatening to charge me for another day. Normal check out time is 12.

OHH and I almost forgot the breakfast I had ordered never made it to my room.

I contacted Omni Corporate offices directly figuring I would not get too far with the hotel directly. They apologized and reversed some food and drink charges...about $75 dollars and offered us a free night
in Houston I informed them that we probably would not be in Houston again any time soon and requested a free night at any Omni hotel they agreed but I have yet to recieve anything. I have held off on my review because I wanted to see what they would do.

To finish I will say that the property itself is very lovely, the food
is just OK. This Omni is way off the beaten path. Houston is a big city and I am certain there are far better accomodations.
