I've worked for luxury hotels and would rate this one average for it's category. The rooms are the newest Marriott rooms with a sleeker, modern decor. But it doesn't stand out in any way, very cookie cutter. The location is good for shopping and getting a meal. The lobby is nice but not comfortable to sit and have a cup of coffee or read the newspaper. Room service and staff were good but not great. Geared towards business travelers, not vacationers or shoppers. No standout bar or restaurant. Comfortable, clean and updated...no surprises. A good value for the money on the weekend.

Not up to other JW Marriotts I've stayed at. Public spaces seem to be in need of renovation. Restaurant closed, in favor of dining at lobby bar.

Really nice hotel. Great location across from the Galleria. Lobby and rooms both very neat, clean and luxurious. Absolutely nothing to complain about!

Rooms are quite big (but same as in most of the Houston hotels) and comfortable.

Location is very good (across from the Galleria).

But it doesn't have the same style or class of the other JW's that I've been to. The property feels pretty old (the restaurant where I had breakfast is just depressing!) and there is nothing really amazing.

Overall OK hotel but nothing amazing.
