“Hilton Let Down”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

Bad
1. The hotel doesn't look as if it has been renovated in years.
2. The valet guy told me there are no valet people working on Saturday and Sunday so self park was the best option.
3. Walking to my room in the hall, I saw bugs. I never even went into the room and requested to cancel my reservation.
There are no restaurants and shops around.

Good
1. Friendly staff.

Overall, I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. The Hilton should remove their brand name from this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't do it!

Restful location on a quiet street in busy Houston. Close to Rice University and the famous MDA Anderson medical complex. Excellent, professional hotel staff who are attentive to the needs and expectations of guests. Shuttle service to local venues and for patients going to MDA.

The room was very spacious, nice and clean. Everyone we came in touch with was very courteous. They offered free WI-FI In The Room and the usage of the fitness center which was a plus. But the room could use some more free channels on the television. They really cared if you had away around their city. The courtesy driving service was very helpful. We would love to return to your lovely hotel in the future if we are ever in HOUSTON again.

The location of this hotel (Hilton/Medical Center) in Houston was 1.5 blocks away from Houston Methodist Hospital. My spouse and I were there for some serious analysis of her heart function. The suite was excellent and the beds were next to heaven in comfort. We chose this hotel in place of others because of the restaurant, which served a breakfast buffet or off the menu, lunch and dinner. The food was presented in a very appealing and attractive manner and was superb. I had the best salmon ever for dinner. The hotel staff are very helpful, polite and willing to go the extra mile.

Found a bed bug the morning I was checking out. They offered me HH points and were apologetic but obviously still disgusting. The head of housekeeping came up and checked the room and stated she saw no other signs of them and sort of implied maybe it was some other bug. However, I know what a bed bug looks like and I'm absolutely certain it was a bed bug I saw in the room (when I squished it with a tissue it burst and was full of blood). Needless to say, I won't be returning.

Thank you for you review. Obviously we take these types of reviews extremely seriously. Like most full service hotels, we use licensed 3rd party professionals to handle our hotel. We had them come back out to inspect the room and found no trace or activity in the room. I apologize for the experience that you had and hope to see you again on a future trip.

Medical stay-skin cancer surgery at MD Anderson Mohs Clinic attached to Hilton. Great room. Great medical rate. Restaurant staff and the food were great. Front desk woman had bad attitude. Late check out time was changed from initial reservation by this woman to an earlier time.Room keys didn't work twice. Free Parking was promised and that was a lie. Sunday night stay for surgery early Monday morning. Very Few guests in hotel and a family with screaming kids were put right next to us. 19 floors in this hotel! Kids screamed until 11:30 pm when we called the front desk to ask for help. It should have never been booked that way!!!! Woman at front desk was not friendly or helpful...Shame on this hotel!

We felt that this did not meet the Hilton Name, the service could have been better. They did not have are room type correct along with insisting that we where in the correct room. After another employee walked by and over heard the conversation, she new immediately which room that we had reserved. Are bath tub did not work correctly so we ended up having to give are one year old showers instead of baths. The bell service during the week was very good, over the weekend it was not that great. The bed was had a piece of foam underneath the sheets, this definitely could have been better. I kind of felt that we where staying at a motel for then anything else. The employees do smoke outside near the entrance, so if your looking for a completely smoke free facility, beware. Overall it served its purpose for the weekend, for the price I don't know if we will stay here again or not. It is close to the hospitals and within walking distance which was nice. I would also make sure you are very clear if eating in the restaurant, they do misinterpet sometimes. The elevators where a little confusing, we could not get one to work and when we told the maintenance guys they just kind of looked at us and kept going. Finally after it opened back up, they came over and said you need to use the card for room in order to go up, but not all of the elevators require this.
