I went here for a business trip and was disappointed as I have stayed at some really good Crown Plaza properties in the past. First off there was construction all around the location which made access difficult. The elevators were broken while there which made getting to your room slow and when you were on the elevator it sounded like it was falling apart. Food was Ok - nothing to write home about. While sleeping all you could hear was the elevator moving up or down the building. . . . really loud. After a rough day at work I walked in the lobby and was approached by solicitors collecting for a charity. . . . I thought this was really out of bounds for a hotel and could not believe the manager would allow this. Look at staying somewhere else when in West Houston. Really disappointing stay

Tired old hotel in need of a revamp.....the conference suites are really looking shaby and the rooms were small and filled with unncessary furniture, refrigerator and toaster oven!!!

Used a lot by travellers on the I10, lots of service techs and repairmen spending the night.

No atmosphere to speak of, just a really bog standard hotel.

Buffet lunch food was OK, again nothing spectacular and serving the purpose.

Avaoid if you are looking to have any fun in Houston.

A good place to stay for business travelers (who else would come here?). Nice, clean rooms, and very comfortable beds!! Furniture/corridors/elevators can look a bit faded though.
About the restaurant located inside the hotel: breakfast buffet has limited choice and is expensive (buffet + orange juice + coffee + tax = 17$). Lunch buffet is great. Dinner menu offers limited choice too. There are some other restaurants close to the hotel anyway.
The hotel has a free shuttle (within 5 miles). Convenient "business center" with free internet, printer, etc.
And finally, the staff is very very helpful and friendly.

We were stuck in a room on the first floor, at the end of a little corridor with only a few rooms that had obviously been converted from conference space because it had the removable square ceiling tiles like you see in office buildings. There were also metal rings poking through sloppily cut holes cut in the ceiling tiles, and some stains on the tiles. The wood furniture and brass lamps and trashcan looked like 70's garage sale castoff items, all scratched and rusted, and the bed was hard. Further, the whole first floor smelled strongly of chlorine from the fountain in the lobby, and when we needed ice, we were told we had to walk all the way to the bar and wait for them to get it for us, as they provided no ice machine for first floor guests. Horrible, horrible experience and I will never stay here again.
