We returned two weeks ago from Spring Break in Houston/Galveston. We had a great time and great stay at the Embassy Suites, SW Freeway. We were a little apprehensive after reading the reviews for this hotel, but decided to give it a try. We are glad that we did. It is a very nice hotel. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour were great! The indoor pool/whirlpool and exercise room were nice.

There was some noise from the Freeway, but that was expected. The area around the hotel was fine, no security issues. We walked to the Olive Garden and Saltgrass Steakhouse, both next door to the hotel.

Embassy Suites charge extra for high speed internet access - this is something they should look into including as some other hotels do.

All in all, we had a great stay and would not hesitate to return to this hotel if we are ever in the Houston area again.

This hotel is the pits. There are a lot of issues here. It is very old and never really seen an update. It sits immediately on the highway and has terrible sliding glass doors so it is like sleeping outside. The atrium roof is covered with tarps because it leaks everywhere when it rains. The high speed internet connection does not work in many of the rooms. It is pretty lousy, I changed hotels after the first night. I would recommend staying anywhere else.

We have stayed at this hotel several times, and this time we moved there from another property (Country Inn & Suites that we HATED). Separate bedroom, very spacious sitting room with couch (sofa bed, we think), TV, work / eating table, refrigerator, microwave, wet bar. This is an older property - and we suggest a room at the rear of the property above the 3rd floor. At the front of the property you can hear the highway traffic, and below the fourth floor you can sometimes smell the indoor pool.

By the way, those weren't hookers, they were guests. Houston is a very culturally diverse city.

I don't think there was one thing i liked about this hotel. The location of the hotel was horrible, literally right off the freeway, getting into the entrance was an accident waiting to happen. The front desk staff was rude and unhelpful, requests for services ie. bellhop, towels, usually went unfulfilled. Rooms on the front of the hotel are extremely noisy, sounded like a window was left open. Alot of the amenities dont work, we had to switch rooms multiple times due to broken heating/ac, television and refrigerator. The rooms are very small and the furniture old compared to other Embassy Suites. Housekeeping was very slow, we would go out for the day and return to an uncleaned room. We were met with a leaky ceiling at breakfast, towels were placed all over the atrium floor to catch water.
