After 4 nights, the lowdown on…
The good:
- Excellent location. Many stores and restaurants close by.
- Reasonable parking fee of 13$/day.
- Spacious lobby, easy access to elevators.
- Good room size (space to walk around).
- Serenity bed was wonderful, although it’s pretty standard in most hotels now.
- Good bathroom size, with toilet and tub separated in a closed room. Incredibly comfortable Kohler toilet seat!
- Nice toiletries by Crabtree & Evelyn.
- Generous amount of towels on the rack.
The bad:
- The room and furnishings just didn’t measure up to a 4-star quality. Missing mini-bar and extra chair. The only chair was the one at the desk so nothing for visitors to sit in.
- Despite the luxurious bedding, the 2 queen beds felt more like double beds. Barely wide enough for 2 people.
- Not sufficient lighting to read.
- Nice granite bathroom counter, but the tub was old.
Tried the breakfast buffet. Good but nothing special.
We got a special rate as we were attending a wedding reception, so the price/quality ratio was fine.
Overall, this is not a bad hotel. There was nothing wrong with it, but it felt more like a Crowne Plaza than Hilton. Surely this cannot be the #1 hotel in Houston?!
