A few things stand out about my recent stay with my husband and 21 month-old son.

1) Everyone that we interacted with was extremely friendly. The folks at the front desk, the people I spoke with on the phone after we pricelined the room (but needed to add a crib), the managers we saw on the elevator, the nice woman vaccuuming the lobby--all terrific. They also let us check in at 12p when I explained that I had a toddler who needed a nap and our flight got us in town pretty early.

2) We forgot to ask for a little fridge in the room before we went grocery shopping for snacks and milk for my little dude. We called from the store and the fridge was plugged in and ice cold by the time we got back.

3) The pool area is very nice as is the fitness area. NOTE, the outdoor pool gets total sun, so it is not much good until the sun passes over in the early evening. It's just too darn hot! But, lots of space on the pool deck, with lounge chairs and dining tables. Also, nice towels are waiting right outside before you go out. Actual thirsty towels.

AND.... the pay for parking IS $14/night in the garage. The highspeed internet is like $13/day. And the room service for the individual miniscule pizza was obnoxious (though the service was very quick and friendly). A bit odd... we only had housekeeping one of the 3 days (1 day toddler nap schedule got in the way and 1 day housekeeping called at 4p to see if we wanted them to come--we passed. On the other day we specifically requested the room be cleaned while we were out for an hour and it was clean before we got back). We knew about the parking and internet in advance, but the rate we got on the room (and staying in this friendly, convenient, good looking hotel) made up for it. I think we paid about the same as if we would have stayed in a courtyard, but had much more "upscale" (thought not fancy) experience.

And, though there were several large groups in the hotel (with lots of kids!!), we never heard anyone in the hallway.

If we ever return to Houston, we will be back!

Rude Rude Rude. Rude to my girlfriend (no apology, just a crappy fruit basket). Hotel was loud. Dont get me started about waiting for elevators and having no stairs. The sauna was fictional though the signs were still there. The final straw was that the front desk were unhelpful, unfriendly, and always made out like they were doing me some huge favor to even acknowledge my presence. Restaurant was good, but overall hotel was unacceptable.

There are a lot of good points about this hotel that make it well worth the money, especially if you can find a decent price on a room. The rooms are very roomy, with very comfortable beds. While nothing extremely fancy, you know by your room that you are in a hotel that cares about it's appearance and room satisfaction. Perhaps the greatest asset the hotel has is it's great location near the galleria and other fine shopping and dining facilities (so if your business is in downtown Houston, you may want to reconsider staying here).
The main drawbacks are with pricing. As most hotels in the area do, this one charges for parking ($25 for valet, $14 for garage, per night). The garage is fine but it can be a decent haul from your room, to the elevator, then down a hall to the parking, up and elevator (as the first floor of the parking garage is reserved) and to your car.
Additionally, internet is costly at over $11 per day and the room service/restaurant is a bit costly as well, although not much more than any fine restaurant in the area might be. Still, there are more sensible options nearby. The extra costs are the only thing preventing this from being a true first-class hotel.

I had my wedding reception at the Hilton Post Oak a year ago. It was absolutely fantastic! The attention to every little detail was perfect. We several guests that stayed at the hotel for several days and almost 500 guests at our reception. All of our guests were all impressed by the hotel and staff during their stay. Our out of town guests really enjoyed the proximity of the hotel to near-by attractions.

The hotel’s wedding coordinator Rachel assisted me in every aspect of my wedding weekend, from the guest rooms, to my suites, and of course my wedding reception. She answered endless emails, phone calls, and met with me when needed.. Rachel assisted me tremendously during the planning process and the execution was perfect. My wedding reception was perfect. The hotel and its staff were flawless.

I highly recommend the hotel for wedding receptions, special events. .
