The Lovett Inn is my new favorite place to stay.
I just spent the most pleasant week in Houston staying at the Lovett Inn. I was here originally on business but decided to stay the weekend and enjoy the 4th largest (soon to be the 3rd largest) city in the country.
The owners have a wonderful home to share and have the true spirit of great bed and breakfast proprietors. They have great attention to detail and have been so helpful and accommodating with a genuine desire to help me enjoy my stay in Houston.
When asking about the city I found them extremely knowledgeable and full of great suggestions. To insure that I had everything that I needed, they would go to the Internet and produced print outs of directions, reviews and up to date information on any topic I brought up. All this was done without my ever having to ask.
The Inn is located in a very quaint neighborhood 5-7 minutes walking distance to the Montrose District. Such great food, museums, a full-sized gym, spas, food stores, pharmacy and even a Starbucks are all within easy walking distance. Location, location, location!
In between the hustle and bustle of seeing the sites and painting the town, I made time to relax around the pool and take breakfast out to my room’s patio and read the paper.
They have some great innovative ideas that make staying at the Lovett so pleasant. The main house is set up with a very easy to use security system allows you access to the beautiful dining room 24/7. They have a wide variety of food available for those late night or early morning hunger cravings! I was especially pleased to see that they stocked the refrigerator with healthful items such as vanilla soy milk, yogurt, whole grain cereals, fresh fruit and juices but also with delicious pastries and cookies. Now that’s what I call a well-balanced meal! The single serve coffee machine is always ready to give me a coffee house grade cup of Joe when you need it whether I am starting my morning or heading out for a night on the town. Also, each room has a DVD player and there is a DVD video library as well as books to choose from for those nights where I wanted to stay in and rest. Their attention to detail really stood out to me and I realized how much work they must have to put in to achieve their success. It must really come from the heart.
I had a friend who was coming to town over the weekend. The Inn has a very impressive website which gives up to date information on what rooms are available along with pictures of each room. I suggested to him that he take a look at staying here. It worked out well because the Lovett Inn also has two townhouse buildings behind the main Inn. Each townhouse has two separate bedrooms, each with it’s own private bath and then a commonly shared kitchen, dining and living room. We each took one of the bedrooms and it was basically our own apartment! It is a great idea for small groups of friends.
Well, enough said. I hope that your stay here is as pleasant as mine was. I have plans to return on business in September and again in October and I know that I’ll be returning to the Lovett Inn.
