One of the highlights of my first trip to Houston was staying at the Lovett Inn in the Montrose neighborhood. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful and made our group of six very welcome.

The continental breakfast was delicious and better yet, available all day long. We all enjoyed the new "cup at a time" coffeemaker. The surroundings are lovely and pedestrian friendly. From the grounds of the B&B to the neighborhood in all directions, it was great to be outdoors.

With good advice from our host, Dan, we tackled the neighborhood and some local museums on foot, jumped on the rapid rail system, lunched downtown and generally had a grand time. Our hosts were familiar with the city and its many attractions.

Lovett Inn is a grand old home, thoughtfully furnished and comfortable. Several adjacent townhouses are part of the B&B property and were perfect for our group. The accomodations made our stay pleasant and hassle free; I highly recommend the Lovett Inn, Houston.

I have not stayed at a B&B before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was nonetheless impressed in every way! My girlfriend and I stayed in the Houston room - a second level room that had a large, private patio with a lounge/sun chair, a table and 2 chairs. We went downstairs and put all of our breakfast items on a tray and brought it up to our room and ate breakfast on the deck each morning. The room was beautiful and charming, and the bed was heavenly! It was one of the remote-control beds where you could control the firmness of the bed by number - what a luxury! The owners couldn't have been sweeter, and we enjoyed playing with the house dog Cody, who was absolutely adorable. There was a pool/jacuzzi area that, if we'd had more time to stay there, definitely would have used. Looked sooo inviting and well-kept.

I read the other review of the Lovett Inn where the person staying in the room at the back of the Inn was disappointed. I didn't see these rooms, just the building they were in. I think they may be $20 or so cheaper per night, but I think I'd pay the money for the Houston room again. I also got to peek at the other rooms on the 2nd floor when we were checking out and they all looked beautiful - I may try a different one next time just for fun!

I thought the food was good that they had for breakfast, and they kept it out 24 hrs/day. The other review said it wasn't good food for a B&B, and since I've never stayed at one, I wouldn't know - but it seemed fine to me. Wide variety of cereals, breads, pastries, waffles in the freezer, tea, coffee, etc. - I thought it was good!

Wow! My friends and I have been staying here for years, since it's the nicest place in the Museum District & Montrose, but the new owners have made it even better. Many upgrades and improvements in and around the house. The rooms in the main house are charming, quaint and clean. We have stayed in the townhouse next door that was converted into two rooms for more privacy and a long-term stay - both times it was very nice. The breakfast has many wonderful selections of fruits and pastries, hot & cold cereals and several other items you would usually find in a very nice continental breakfast. No wonder it's been voted the #1 b&b in Houston for several years running.
