We had a very enjoyable stay at the Lovett Inn. The Inn consists of rooms in the main building, which is a historic house, plus rooms in the carriage house and adjacent townhouses. We stayed in one of the townhouse suites and it was almost like coming home to our own apartment. The decor style was modern and quite pleasant.
There was a separate living room, bedroom, and pantry area with microwave and refrigerator. The bedroom had a king-sized bed and large TV with all cable channels and DVD player. The bed was very comfortable and we always got a good night's sleep.
The bathroom had a single-person whirlpool tub with shower. The shower pressure and temperature were mostly good although I think the plumbing system was shared with the other townhouse room as occasionally the shower water temperature would vary...not a big problem though.
Climate control for the townhouse was provided by a central unit and the thermostat is in the hall shared with the suite below...the temperature was always good in the room.
The main Lovett Inn building is just around the corner from the townhouse and you can go in at any time by using a code to enter the door. There is a very nice foyer, parlor, dining room and study. There are breakfast foods constantly provided including boiled eggs, cereals, dried fruits, bagels and bread for toasting, yogurt, juices, muffins, etc. You can go to the dining room for a midnight snack if you like or take breakfast any time (a cooked breakfast is not provided, though).
The coffee was from a Capresso machine which grinds the beans and dispenses one cup at a time and was always good. There is also a great variety of teas provided.
Wireless internet access is provided free and there is also a computer with internet provided in the study if you don't have your own. There is also an informative guide provided in the room of recommended local restaurants that are close by. The location is great and it is a short trip to lots of interesting things to see and do.
We would definitely recommend the Lovett Inn in Houston.
