“Great place for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2011

We brought our family of five to Houston over the Mardi Gras break. I chose this hotel because of the ratings on Trip Advisor. It is a small hotel (approximately 66 rooms) with only two floors and no elevator. All of the staff members were friendly and very helpful, especially the front dest clerk who checked us in. There is a free breakfast each morning with enough choices to please everyone in our family. We did not hear any noise in our room at night. The pool and hot tub were clean. This place had the feel of a large B & B at a bargain basement price. The hotel was conveniently located for everything we were doing in Houston, and we will definitely stay here if we come back to Houston.

Stayed at this best western with a friend for a weekend in Houston. One of the cleanest Best Westerns I've been to. Check in was very efficient. Request for room away from highway completed. Mini suite means a large room with a couch/desk area but still much larger than most hotel rooms. Micowave/fridge and sink included. Beds had a million little pillows on them though they were too soft for my taste. No elevators here but the facilty is only two floors.

Work out room small but functional. Breakfast in morning included fruit, sausage, waffles, muffins, toast, eggs. Very decent included breakast. Just need another waffle maker on weekends when crowded for the people that hog the waffle maker making 6-7 waffles at a time. Ihop is basically next door for more complete breakfast. Location is ideal for mid-town to south houston. North houston is quite a ways if this is where you're heading. Computer in lobby for free use and of course free wi-fii in room. Nice job Best Western

I stayed at the Westchase Best Western while in Houston for a business trip for three nights. I selected this hotel because of the good reviews on Trip Advisor and I wasn't disappointed. Very friendly staff helped make this trip much more enjoyable. I booked a room with a king bed but they didn't have one available when I arrived, so they took $10 per night off my rate. That's never happened before! The hotel was very clean and my room very comfortable. The location couldn't be beat...five minutes away from the office and very close to restaurants and shopping. I was traveling alone and felt very safe in this hotel. One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel doesn't have an elevator so if you have mobility issues request a first floor room when making a reservation. I would definitely stay here again.

Great little hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. Rooms are large and clean with small kitchenette and living room area. Breakfast is hot buffet and you can take to your room - sausage, omlettes, toast, cereal, fruit, juice and always hot fresh coffee. M-Th evening they serve wine, cheese and little warm tacos in the foyer - again, which you can take to your room. We were in Houston - first time in 13 years and the Westchase area has certainly grown but its still a great little area. We went to see a Linkin Park concert with my 13 yr old but it got cancelled. Fortunately there was enough to do (including a side trip to San Antonio and Galveston) and a fantastic hotel to stay in! Oh, and free internet.

My husband had business in the area for most of the week, so my toddler and I tagged along hoping to spend some time with friends in the area. Overall the hotel was okay, even with a toddler who acted like a hotel room was a prison cell and didn't enjoy being confined. All in all, I'd say it's a decent place to stay if you're a single traveler. If you're a family, go elsewhere.

Best about the hotel: It's in a convenient location with back and front entrances, right on the W. Sam Houston Tollway Southbound. Highway noise wasn't too loud where we were, especially if we kept the AC unit on. I loved all the shopping and dining options on nearby Westheimer. But since Westheimer is terrible for traffic, we took advantage of also nearby parallel roads Richmond and Meadowglen to help us zip east & west, taking back entrances into Westheimer businesses. The hotel was clean and quiet most of the time. Their clientele seemed to primarily be business travelers, so that's a positive. The front desk staff was really good, and there was a particular woman in the morning who had the patience of a saint. Whatever I told her was generally taken care of fast. The rooms were nice with mini-suite style. Essentially it's just a big room like any other hotel room, except there's a sofa bed on one end with a desk, and a wet bar with a mini-fridge & microwave at the other end. There's no signifigant divide between the rooms. Comfortable beds & pillows. Pleasant smell to the room. Good AC. Nice TV. Free Internet access. All you could really ask for in a room for a basic stay.

Worst about the hotel: There is no elevator, if you need one. The building only has two stories, though. Most slippery bathtub we'd ever used - someone is going to fall and kill themselves in the bathtub someday if they don't add some anti-slip devices! We laid down a bath towel on the bottom of the tub to be safe while showering. They have the worst luggage cart I've ever used. Terrible. Only had one, and could barely roll it in a straight line, and forget about corners. The first night we got there, the desk clerk was promoting their after-work wine & cheese offering. When I looked closely, the cheddar cubes with white mold on them. Yuck. Another issue with the free breakfast. The first day was nice, except the bananas were bruised and blackened. The second day, same ugly bananas and no yogurt. These are my child's favorite food, so they're important to us. I asked for more yogurt and got some. Third and fourth days, no bananas, no yogurt. And they served the exact same hot breakfast options each day. I've stayed at other Best Westerns that rotated their hot breakfast items, so I don't know why this place didn't do the same. Also, their breakfast area is extremely small, so if you're a family trying to eat at the same time as the business people, plan to eat in your room. Final comment: The parking lot. It's small, tight, and has killer speed bumps in it. The back exit onto Rogerdale Rd. also has a sharp bump. The night we arrived, their business signs were not illuminated in either the back or the front of the property, so you couldn't see where the entrance was. Almost wrecked our car trying to turn as soon as we saw it. They also didn't have on their parking lot street lights, but there was enough light from neighboring businesses to be safe. We only noticed the street signs turned on after our third night there.

1. Not the typical Best Western hotels
2. Room is exceptionally clean, like a 4 star type
3. Bath room is clean & spacious
4. Front desk staff is fabulous & friendly!
5. Evening free snacks
6. Close enough to downtown
7. The front desk had those macademia nuts cookies that have made me miss this hotel much more. So delicious and they generously give them away to the guests.
8. In general, a very nice and new hotel, very different from the typical motel-type Best Western.
9. Free high--speed internet
10. Free parking
11. Free hot breakfast

We'll be back soon! LOVE this hotel and the staff! It's a hidden gem at affordable rate!

I stayed at the Best Western Westchase Mini-Suites with my mother and daughter for a girls weekend shipping trip. The hotel was great, the front desk clerks were friendly, the beds were comfortable, the price was great, and best of all was the free breakfast.
We are returning in October for a repeat!!!
