“Can't go wrong for the price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2011

We checked in late from a long day of traveling and the ladies at the front desk were wonderful! They were cheerful, accommodating and efficient. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and good size. I've stayed in far more expensive hotels with bathrooms half the size. The breakfast bar in the lobby is very convenient for grabbing a bite before starting the day. The location is convenient to the Galleria Mall and lots of other shopping along Westheimer. We chose to drive although you can walk to many places if you have comfortable shoes and the energy! The only negatives were that the maid would not visit our room until mid to late afternoon and the only mirror was in the bathroom so I could not get ready in the morning when my husband was hogging the bathroom. I recommend this hotel if you do not need all the expensive frills of the more luxurious hotels in the area.

We stayed for 4 nights in a comfortable, clean and spacious room. We received a high floor room as requested in our booking. The location of the hotel made it an easy walk to the Galleria shops, and it wasn't too far to drive to some other excellent restaurants. Breakfast choices were plentiful. We used the very clean and tidy laundry. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Only one little problem, which we thought was handled very well, and that is why we have given this hotel a 5 star rating. At 10pm on our 2nd night, we heard the sound of a dog barking - the hotel has a no pet policy!! We rang reception, who sent a man up to investigate, but ofcourse he didn't hear anything in the 5 minutes that he stood in the hallway. When the dog barked and wimpered again 15 minutes later, we investigated ourselves and located the room opposite us as the culprit. We actually like dogs, except when they keep us awake! So we rang reception again, who sent the man back up, and it was discovered that the poor dog had been left on it's own in the room. Reception contacted the offending guest and the barking dog was removed within the hour. We thought the problem was solved quickly and satisfactorily.

I spent 1 night here recently because my preferred hotel had no availability. It was a little difficult to find because the lobby actually fronts an alley between Sage and Rice not Sage as the address indicates. Check-in was super slow – it took like 20 minutes at least before they got to me due to some cash-paying customers in front of me. The garage seems a little tight for 2-way traffic. The rooms are clean and large enough, and mine faced the Galleria which was nice. The 1 thing I really liked was that they have almost every channel there. Most hotels only seem to give you the local channels, news and HBO. They have them all!
On the downside, the towels were skimpy and the bed seemed too soft, almost like it had a hump where all the previous folks had lain.

The staff at this hotel will amaze you. I have never experienced such professionalism and great attitudes as I did here. Not just from one person but everyone I dealt with. Hotel is clean, updated and is great shape. I will stay here again.

Stayed here on a business trip September 18 - 22. Clean, very modern room. Well laid out and all the usual amenities. Staff was nice and quite helpful. As the previous post indicated, $15/night parking. My only hitch was that there multiple times my parking pass didn't work... but a quick buzz to the desk (button right at the card reader) and I was in/out in a flash.

My 7th Floor room was very typical Courtyard: well designed for business: Comfortable bed, nice size work desk with free in-room Wi-Fi/internet. The in-room fridge was well appreciated. There was some road noise heard, but it was not really disturbing. The indoor pool was nice, but while the gym was disappointingly very small and basic, the hotel offered free passes to a local Bally’s Fitness. The only surprise was $15 per day to park. This is uncommon for Courtyard, but unfortunately was typical of other Galleria hotels in Houston. The Houston Galleria is just a short walk away with unlimited shopping and dining choices. Except for the steep daily parking charge, this hotel is recommended.

I usually stay at another property in the Galleria area, but wanted a bit of a change and this Marriott location was on company approved list. I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. Good, safe, covered parking--a major plus as a single female traveler. Room was comfortable and the AC worked great in the 100*plus days I was in Houston! Breakfast variety good as well as good happy hour prices. Will stay at the location again.
