My wife and I stayed here to celebrate her 40th birthday party. I noted this when I made the reservation and the hotel took notice! The concierge (Justin Sparks) contacted me about 2 weeks before our stay and helped me arrange for flowers and candles in the room and spa appointments. He also arranged for a complementary cake and wine in our room. I had booked a pool side villa, but due to a wedding at the hotel, the pool was closed for a private party. So the hotel called me a few days out and offered me a free upgrade to the C'est La Vie suite. Wow, what a room! It is huge and very well decorated, with high end furnishings. It made for a great evening. The only negative is the noise - both noise from the adjacent suite (wedding related, loud group, I think). Also, the road noise was pretty prominent. Being in the Houston medical center, there are ambulances and the train running all the time. We could hear everything even though our room was up on the 11th floor (of 12 total floors). We ate dinner at the Monarch restaurant and the food was good, but not awesome. We split the lamb - I liked it but my wife thought it tasted like Ajax. I would not return solely to eat at Monarch; however, if you are staying at the hotel, then this is a pretty decent and convenient place to eat.
Value? Just OK. While this was an awesome night, it was pricey. It cost $900 total for the room, couples massage, dinner, and flowers.
Extra special kudos to Justin for all of his help and for the great planning!
The C'est La Vie suite was pretty awesome.

Justin is one of ZaZa's stars; I will definitely make sure he is commended for providing excellent service to you during your visit at the hotel.
In regards to your dining experience at the Monarch, I apologize for the less than stellar meals you and your wife ordered. Such quality is definitely not the norm at the restaurant. I will relay your message on to my team immediately so that such an incident does not occur again in the future!
