If colorful and esthetic are your principal criteria for a stay then you'll probably be happy with this hotel. The decor is very eye catching and pretty. You almost feel like you are in the middle of a Pottery Barn catalog page. But I think thats pretty much it.

I stayed at this hotel over Memorial Day weekend. I got the room for a decent price for a one nighter through Hotwire. The weather was pouring rain outside, and I was in from a long flight and starving. I was checked in and greeted promptly. Was pleased when I opened the door of my room and saw the pretty little beach theme that I had seen online.

I proceeded to jump to the book to find out whats on the room service menu and was totally bummed to find out that the hotel restaurant closes for hours and hours between meals. It would be at least 4 hours until I could get some food. I seriously tried to wait, but hunger got the best of me and I ended up going down the street to an overpriced Sushi restaurant for an appetizer.

When I got back I was exhausted and tried to take a nap, but the "adorable" wooden blinds, leave MUCH MUCH light to the room, so the comfortable hotel darkness that we all crave when we are traveling was a no go. The room has very beautiful wooden floors and with the rain, it made it sound like I was in just what the theme was showing me a beachhouse. With absolutely no quiet and no darkness.

I watched a movie and later on went down to the hotel restaurant to order up some food. The wait on the food was about 40 minutes since they have 1 poor man as the chef and the bartender and the cashier. He was friendly and was nice enough to bring up the food to my room, since I waited so long. Food was good, I had the salmon.. nothing over fancy about it.

After a sleeping pill.... finally sleep!!

So overall, not a terrible review, but I am a creature of comfort and this just did not have the long distance traveler in mind.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo for the second time over Memorial Day weekend. We love it's location in walking distance to the Galleria, but the real reason is because they make you feel so special while you're there. The front desk people are genuinely happy to have you there and can't do enough to help you get settled and enjoy the area. The hotel seems small and intimate and the decor keeps me coming back. It's like a trip to the beach, all blue and white with fresh white painted furnishing and lime green accents. Sea shell sconces and subtle beach touches make you feel like you're a million miles away from the everyday. But again it's the outstanding service that makes the difference. They provided feather pillows for us when I ask for a smaller pillow. I left our garmet bag of dress clothes in the room and didn't notice it until a week later. I was sure they were gone for good, but I called them and they had them waiting for us to mail back in 2 days. There are only a hand full of Hotel Indigos in the country, but I always check to see if one is where I'm headed.

I stayed for one night on a biz trip and I really endoyed my stay. The front desk person was very nice. I had a great king bed that was SO comfy and the linens were new and very high quality. The floor was a pergo type wood, which was different. The room was small but modern. Nice flat panel type tv. Nice touch included a wooden tray on the bed with the ice bucket and glasses. And there WERE shades to pull to block the light on the windows. No view really but who cares. A nice desk area for working. The very best part was the bathroom, the pedestal type sink had a beautiful dark grey bluish granite and the shower was about 4X6, so big it didn't even have a door, just a glass opening. It had a hand-held sprayer which I personally love. Nice Aveda products and LOTS of very soft new white white towels. For dinner, I ended up calling the Grand Luxe Cafe down the street, ordered to go and then drove to the liquor store down the street and bought a bottle of pinot. It was awesome and less than $30 total. I was alone and hate going out alone. There were some people in the bar but I had a long day. It was perfect and relaxing. As far as the breakfast goes, there's a little coffee area downstairs (serves as the bar at night) which serves Starbucks and has lots of muffins and pastries. They even heated my banana nut muffin without me asking. As for the person who said she saw a cockroach, this place is so spotlessly clean, she must have brought it with her from home. The only downfall was no pool. I will definitely stay there again.

After reading many of the reviews I decided to give it a shot for a one-night business trip. The proximity to everywhere I needed to be was great, but the placement in relation to the buildings around it was weird. Apparently, the building used to be a nursing home so it is... weird. It is place far back behind the other buildings on the street, which would be ok, but the "driveway" hasn't been landscaped to make the area look inviting- it looks like a weird building in the middle of a run-down parking lot. This is... weird... because the hotel is actually kind of nice, and very freshly renovated. The decor is very happy as they use nothing but clean, clear colors (no typical beiges, burgundy, forest greens, etc.) yet, the colors are almost too much. They may want to tone down a bit. The room was impressive, but since the floors are hardwood (or a facsimile thereof) you can hear everything. Generally this hotel draws a business crowd so no one is there, or they are too tired to make noise anyway. What was a problem is the outside parking-lot lights shining through the window. There are only blinds on the window, and sheers so there aren't any drapes to block out this light. I found it very hard to sleep with the blue light filling the room.

Also, I think they have room service now. I'm not really sure because they first said no, but they have menus in the room. No information if they bring it to you or not- weird. It looked ok though, but didn't eat at the hotel so I can't contibute here.

Even though I used "weird" several times I want to like this brand of hotels, but something is just off. I love that they went outside of the box (and I loved the bathroom too btw), but something needs to be tweaked and I'm not sure what that is. I might stay here again in a pinch, but only if my first few choices were not available.
