This is the first time we stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn - usually we stay at the other Hilton brands, i.e. Hilton, Homewood Suites. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised - this hotel is geared towards business travelers but the facilities are equally appealing for tourists. Especially useful was the 24hr business center which allows you to surf online and print documents, photocopy. We did research online from our hotel room and were able to go to the business center (access via room key card) at our convenience to print and pick up on demand - the printer does not print until you access the queue. The first floor has a very open floor plan with a combined restaurant/spacious lobby area - good place for meeting friends or business associates. Breakfast was typical - cooked to order eggs, omelets, and typical breads, cereals. As Hilton Diamond members, breakfast was included. Otherwise, $22 for two. The coffee was awful, unless you like it very strong. We did stay in a suite and I agree with a previous post that the a/c is loud (think a/c wall unit as opposed to central air) but we're urban folk, so it didn't bother us. The shower was great, the bed was comfy, and the suite was spotless - no complaints. The staff was courteous and professional - one staff member even helped us track down a nearby CVS store carrying Blue Bell ice-cream. My husband was approached by a scammer(clean cut well-dressed gentleman) in the parking lot - the scammer claimed he needed money to get gas for his car so that he could see his wife who had ovarian cancer. This is an old scam that we've come across both in TX and NY - it's a scam and if this happens to you, don't fall for it. We turned him down and he tried it with another hotel guest - this time in the lobby. The scammer ran off the property when he saw us alert the hotel staff. I was satisfied with the hotel response - this can happen anywhere and once the hotel staff was alerted, they took prompt action. Alll in all, it was a perfect location - we did not visit The Galleria shopping center but it is a short drive away (not within walking distance - especially laden with shopping bags).
