We held a league event at Pine Crest. Had been over a year since was there last and last visit was not spectacular due to the Houston drought. Houston has had a fair amount of rain and the golf course was in pretty decent condition. The greens were not perfect but they had plenty of grass, just a bit bumpy. Some areas in the rough and along the cart paths were pretty well worn but the fairways had good grass coverage, not a lot of weeds. Pine Crest is more or less a no-frills golf daily fee golf course. Layout is not overly hard but still is interesting. Driving range is bit beat up but range balls were in good shape. Looks like they have converted their grill into more of a late day spot. Noticed they had a karoke machine. Down side, we had tee times starting at 9AM and there was no food service that early. Nothing for breakfast. They do not have a beverage cart but they do have a drink box where you can get drinks in the pro shop and cooler outside with cups and ice. When we finished, the bar was open and food was available. Great food and drinks were good. Service in grill was very good.
