Very clean hotel. When entered room, smelled like citrus. When returned after a long day, no smells at all which for me was good. The air is very dry so if you need humidified air, bring your own humidifier. Great airconditioning. Hot water in the shower. The city itself is humid. Beds conform to the body as it warms during sleep. I thought at first the bed was too hard but slept all night with no aches or pains. White bedspread and linen. Tall beds. Decent sized bathroom. We were allowed to sleep late so we awoke refreshed, checked out on time, and continued our travels. As another reviewer reported, you cannot see the toilet paper roll because it is hidden under the sink. Thank you housekeeping for letting the tissue hang down. Bathroom was ultra clean. The amenities in the bathroom were from Bath and Bodyworks and Neutragena soap, a nail kit, and shower cap. We did not eat the breakfast but saw diners being given attention and that's a good sign. The coffee is Starbucks brand. Free coffee and tea in the room. Microwave and fridge in the room -- both very clean. Large modern TV with excellent selection of channels. We got a 3rd party rate for the room so we probably received the worst room in the hotel. We had an excellent view of the Satellite dishes and rooftop which was okay with us. If ours was the worst room in the hotel, and our room was that clean, we can only imagine how clean the rest of the rooms must have been. The desk was a bit worn. The desk chair was comfortable. The space in the room was sufficient. Lots of places to sit and socialize on the first floor and outside. Tastefully decorated public areas. Several water features inside and outside. Did not see pool but they have one. Call to ask if its open. Fitness room was modern including exercise balls. Guests were of many nationalities and cultures and all were respectful. Guest actually said, "I'm sorry" and "Excuse me" when entering my personal space. Very unusual at any hotel. Behind this hotel is a modern Asian shopping mall representing many countries of Asia. Many restaurants from different countries are in the area including an American food restaurant. Whoever owns this hotel and manages it is doing an excellent job and hires good staff. I rarely give that type of compliment. I have stayed in other hotels in this chain but found this one unique. The only problem was beyond the control of the hotel. The hotel is on a one-way feeder road to the toll road. Many cars exit the toll at this location which fills the lanes with heavy traffic even during low traffic hours of the day. I recommend using the GPS navigation to go around that light and enter the hotel from the back streets and shopping area. A lot of traffic actually turned into the hotel driveway to get where they were trying to go on the back streets. If I stayed at this hotel again, I would not use the side service road but use the side streets to get around. It is possible that the area behind the hotel is a low income area but no one bothered us or even seemed to notice that we were not from the area. Use your GPS to get around blocked traffic areas in Houston. If you don't have one, its worth it to rent one. If we had a problem getting into the hotel parking lot on a low traffic day, I can only imagine the heavy traffic on a business day. I wish I could keep this hotel a secret. We visit Houston quite often and have stayed at many hotels at different star levels and found this one special. Wish we could keep it a secret :-)
If you booked using a 3rd party reservation site, expect a wonderful view of the rooftop and satelli...
