Early morning breakfast or brunch at Kenny and Ziggy's. You don't have to be Jewish but if you are you will appreciate the restaurant even more because mostly likely you grew up with this food. I get to the restaurant once every 5 years or so but I remember it from just about the time it opened.
I had the smoked sable platter; unbelievable fish, Just melts in the mouth.
Don't miss Kenny and Ziggy's if you are in Houston. The folks who live in Houston already know.

“Great NY deli food from another transplanted New Yorker!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014 via mobile

Excellent deli food from NY! Love their Coney Island square knishes and the Fiddler on the Roof sandwich! Was looking forward to rice pudding and it came with green grapes! I lived in NY for over 10 years and never had rice pudding with grapes! Totally spoiled it for me.

“New York style food, with a price tag”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

A good deli, with huge sandwiches. The reuben was good, the matza balls were decent, but the best part was the éclair we had for dessert. Overall, I rated it average because of the prices. Maybe its just because its in the Galleria area so prices are inflated everywhere, but for a sandwich, it was more than I wanted to pay. I wouldn't make a trip to specifically go there, but I would go back. Service was pretty good.

“Take it from a transplanted local”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

If you are looking for a real Jewish deli, look no further. This is the real New York type deli. I know because i am from New York. There some here that have Jewish sounding name. Forget It. Located near the Galleria it is not hard to find, but if you go at lunch time you will wait, but it is worth the wait. Hot pastrami on rye, my favorite corned beef on rye, my wife's favovite, never ordered anything that wasnt top notch. The sandwiches are very big for one meal, we always get to go box. In my opinion the only other place to find real jewish deli would be in NYC or Miami

“Huge sandwiches and hearty dinners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

We came here because we rarely get to an authentic deli. We were not disappointed.
Huge rueben sandwich. Great slaw. Wife got the turkey dinner. It came with a salad, dressing, and two sides. Prices are steep but knowing what we were in for before hand, it was worth the price. Attentive server and fast service. If you've never had a chance to get deli food often, Houston has a winner.
The pickles were fantastic. Several different levels of dill. Pickles in the making. Delicious.
