“Boisterous place to eat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

Food used to be better, but is still decent. They've toned down the seasonings, so there's not a whole lot of flavor any more. The specialty is fried Gulf of Mexico seafood, so I wouldn't recommend looking for or ordering Atlantic or Pacific seafood, as it would likely be a special they're not that familiar with the preparation of.

The crowd is usually quite loud, with a lot of larger groups of 8-12 (or more) people. Be prepared for a long wait, especially on weekends, as I don't believe that reservations are taken.

Prices are relatively low, and portions are usually quite large.

“Quality cajun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

Pricey yet delicious food with a cajun flare. Depending on the location the atmosphere can suffer, but the food stays true.

“Decent food, ok place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

I was in town on business, meeting with clients and we ended up at Pappadeaux's. It wasn't my choice but I ended up there with a group from one client. Honestly, it wouldn't have been (and wasn't) my choice but overall it wasn't a horrible experience. I guess my biggest complaint was that everything seemed to be either a. fried or b. covered with something. Case in point...Baked Chilean sea bass...it comes with a creamy/cheesy crab/shrimp topping of some kind. I dumped the topping and just had the fish which was actually very well cooked and came with a cooked spinach that was also good and complimented the fish. Interestingly, out of 6 people at the table, 5 out of 6 of us ordered the Chilean sea bass and almost everyone dumped the topping.

Also, the restaurant was pretty loud, making it difficult to hear who were speaking across the table.

With the meal we had a mix of people drinking beer and wine. We ended up also ordering a couple of desserts at the end and sharing those. The banana pudding was very good and definitely enough for sharing with a tableful of people.

It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't rush back either.

“I love this place”

The food is excellent and the desserts are to die for. The prices are high, but the food is worth it!
