girlfriend and i went to the texas land and cattle restaurant near willowbrooke mall on mon. 6/25/12. we went for my birthday dinner, she ordered a small ribeye and i ordered the 20 oz bone in ribeye so we could have some leftovers. unfortunately the waiter screwed up and i got a regular ribeye. it was cooked perfectly and was a good flavorful steak but not what i ordered. she had a salad and baked potatoe while i decided to try their shoestring fries for a change of pace. the fries would have been great except they came with black pepper sprinkled all over them. who does that? especially without mentioning that on the menu. we also each had a long island ice tea from the bar. that was a disapointment, it tasted very watered down. the service was ok, but could have been better since there were only 2 or 3 other couples and several waitestaff just standing around. most places will also offer a small comp dessert of some kind on special occasions, no such luck there. all in all the steaks were cooked right and tasted great, just would have expected a little more since they are competing with a saltgrass steakhouse which is right next door! one more thing they also serve loaves of fresh, warm, sourdough bread with your meal and it is wonderful!
