“Great place when the owner is present.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012 via mobile

Their food tastes good and service is great when the owner is there. The last two times I ate here, the owner had the day off and the food made me very ill and the spanish woman refilling the salad bar was very unfriendly. I don't eat here anymore.

“Go for the Chicken Fry”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

It thinks it is a bbq restaurant, but go here for the Chicken Fried Steak! They offer a variety of sizes, and use the tasty but non-obtrusive (compared to the heavy white stuff) gravy made with chicken stock. Salad bar is average, but other sides are better, like the Hot Tots: mashed potatoes made into balls and then fried, served with same gravy as the CFS; or grilled zucchini, or giant fried onion rings. They also have good fried mushrooms and zucchini. Desserts are average but tasty. Friendly staff take your order and give you a pager that signals when your order is ready. This place fills up quickly, especially when there is live entertainment at night, and so you may be sharing a table with some neighbors. Enjoy!

“Not the best BBQ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

The place is nice and so are the people but the BBQ is not up to Texas standards.

“Great barbeque, great chicken fried steak”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

I you cannot get enough to eat here, you are the world's biggest slacker. The Cattleman's CFS is huge, comes with a great all you can eat salad tub, fries, gravy, and other fixings. The barbecue is excellent as well. Pecan pie pretty good too...been eating here since the 1980's...never varies in quality.
