I just returned from 10 days eating my way through France and was excited when my best friend asked me to take her to Le Mistral for her birthday lunch. There were foods I hadn't tried in France and wanted another shot at. I ordered the beef carpaccio appetizer and it was good but it was absolutely drowned in oil and had so much vinegar on it, I could not taste the meet at all. We each ordered a salad as the main course and they were both wonderful but again way too much oil. They brought my friend some complimentary macaroons for her birthday dessert and they were excellent.
As for the service, it was so-so. We waited a long time for water, had to ask what the lunch specials were, and then when we asked for a couple more minutes to order, we were left alone for a solid 10 minutes. But after a rough start, they kept our water glasses full and were helpful but not overly intrusive, which I liked.
It was quiet and we could talk easily without shouting, even as the place filled up over the lunch hour.

Merci! We would like to send our thanks for taking the time to write and honest and sincere review. Each bit of feedback we receive is carefully considered. Over the weekend, our chefs revised the carpaccio and dressings for the salads. While we regret your food was less than satisfactory, it has given us the opportunity to review our own recipes and practices to ensure proper execution each and every time. Hopefully your love of great French food will bring you back to our doors for plenty of other well-executed dishes in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere!
