“A near perfect dinning experience! Everything that matters to me, no compromises!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

Fresh, delicious, local when possible. This was the most gourmet level gluten free meal I have had outside of my house! Perfect medium rare, supremely crafted taste combinations, excellent wine choices, and amazing servers! Ask for Daniel. I will return with many friends!!!

“Great Italian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Long one our favorites, James Watt has made adjustments that make it even better. First, he is there and watching the diners from the kitchen, seeing what's coming back or being wolfed down. The staff is friendly and know their food and wine. Even the simplest dishes, such as lasagna or spaghetti and meatballs, are elevated to a new level. The seafood is excellent, have soft-shell crabs if they're available. It's a bistro or trattoria atmosphere so loud. Get a booth at either end of the room, much more manageable. It'll remain one of our go to places.

“Great service, okay food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Service was great. Seated right away for table of 7 on a Saturday afternoon/evening (6pm). Bread and garlic dipping oil was great. Food came out super fast. But my dish was just ok. I had the margharita pizza. Too may tomatoes. Soggy crust in middle. Everyone else at table seemed very happy. no leftovers, except for me. each one of my friends got a different seafood dish. Not sure I would go back for food.

“The food was very good, as well as the service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Might have to wait at peak times, but the food was well worth it. Some items a bit pricey, including the wines. I went with a party of 4, each having a different entrée, and each said it was very good and would return. The tables are a bit close to each other as they try to accommodate more people, which detracts from the ambiance.

“Favorable initial impression, but disappointed with cuisine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

Dinner for two. No reservations ,but quickly found places at the bar. Restaurant was packed and noisy; customers were clearly enjoying the ambiance. Wine list extensive and interesting; prices from top to bottom. List of wines by the glass just sufficient and prices in line with expectations.

My wife ordered soup with lentils and lamb sausage which she found to be too bland with too many onions and chewy pieces of sausage. I ordered fried oysters which were too small and encased in a too thick cornmeal batter: major disappointment. Main courses were: snapper & pappardelle with Texas rabbit sauce. Fish was overcooked and dry, served with mish-mash of vegetables: totally unappealing. Pappardelle was first rate: thoroughly enjoyable.

So, while we were initially impressed and hoped that the ambience would be matched by the quality of the kitchen fare, we were sorely disappointed. Too bad. We'll go again for the atmosphere, but will stick with the pasta.
