“Bellissimo is one of those hidden treasures”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

Recently opened in the trendy Heights area of Houston, this new "hole in the wall" Italian restaurant offers really good food at a very good price. Four of us enjoyed a recent lunch. The salads were fresh and definitely large enough to share. Two of us had the jalapeno chicken pasta dishes (one with smoked sausage as well, the other chicken only). Both were very good (and spicey) in a creamy Alfredo sauce.

One had the shrimp dish which was really good. We also shared a appetizer plate of crab cakes. The sauce was delicious, but the crab had too much breading for my taste. It was, all in all, a relaxing, enjoyable lunch.

I read the review about slow service. I would say it is not a place for quick meal, but one to enjoy with family and friends. The quality of food is very good for the price and it definitely has the feel of a family run business. Hope it maintains the quality and atmosphere as it moves to the new location this month!

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

We went with 2 other couples and had a FANTASTIC meal.....the prices are unbelievably reasonable and the key Lime pie is the BEST I have eaten anywhere in the world. The desserts are made there . We have eaten in Italy and this is some good Italian food. I had the Gnocchi and this Jalapeno pasta.Very friendly , attentive service. No attitude here ...JUST FRIENDLY. They are moving to Cavalcade and Airline to a larger location which they need as the place was packed .YUM! I am going to stop writing now and go get some more of that Key Lime pie.

“andor says: Great value for you money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

Really and unbeliveable experience for such a tucked away little restaurant in the heart of The Heights.... family owned and with pride!. Attention to details and customer service is exceptional. The food is gourmet, both look and feel and the prices are affordable. Highly recommend the crab cakes and calamari for appetizers, the red snapper dish, and any of the desserts. I also noted from other customers they were raving about the pizzas. They just recently got their liquor license though you could still get the corf fee per bottle @ $10. Their wine selection is average so are their prices. I would suggest you either go early, or ensure you make reservations as the restaurant is small and will fill up quickly (at least for dinner).

By the way - Bellissimo is moving of Airline Rd to a large location sometime by mid-April. You have to try it. FANTASTICO!

“Not as good as expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

When we saw the great reviews we expected good Italian food. Unfortunately the food was average and less. The seafood Capellini was good but the Lobster special ($32) was awful a real disappointing, the salmon and chicken dishes were OK, i.e. average, the Red Snapper was not what we expected. All in all we were not happy with our choice. I was debating if to rank the restaurant with only 2 stars as the service was slow too, we paid for 6 people $125. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant.
