I've stayed at this property many times since it opened and it continues to be the same; short on value, very high priced and long on lackluster service.
I can't remember the last time I got a king non-smoking room like my profile calls for and the internet service did not work in my room for the first two days. 45 minutes on the phone with the service provider and they still didn't have a clue what the problem was. Then, I had to ask to be moved to another room; no one at the front desk volunteered one. When I did get moved what type of room do you think I got? That's right, another one with two double beds.
Classy . . .
To make matters worse, when I checked in the first night and walked into my room the doors that connect my room with the one next door was wide open. Thinking this room might be some type of suite (silly me), I walked into the next room and found a man lying on the bed completely naked who was as surprised as I was. I immediately called the front desk and got nothing more than a "we're sorry".
When I checked out on Friday morning at 6:30 AM there was a line of 4 people waiting for one young lady to do it all. No one to be found at the Hilton Honors area. 15 minutes later I finally get my folio and am on my way, never to return.
This monolithic monster of a property (1200 rooms) gives you get the feeling that if Walmart built a hotel this is how it would be managed, but with much higher prices. I firmly believe that location is the only thing keeping this hotel open. I know that I'll go somewhere else the next time I'm in Houston for business.
