After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit nervous about staying at the Hilton Americas. I was extremely pleased to find that I found NOTHING AT ALL negative about staying here; I would gladly stay here on my return trips to Houston! It's a fairly new hotel-- the lobby is gorgeous, the rooms are a nice size and are furnished in a contemporary style, the bathrooms are quite nice and I had no problems whatsoever with the water pressure (if only I had that sort of pressure at home! Wow!). Most important of all, the place was very clean... I can't stand checking into a room where you find the upholstered chairs, ottomans, rugs, etc., all have spots and stains (ugh!) and there was not a speck of anything to be found. The staff was very helpful-- I asked the concierge if he had a sewing kit so that I could mend my shirt; not only did he give me a small repair kit but he offered to come and do the sewing himself! In all, it was a fantastic stay, I only wish I could have stayed there longer. Another great thing about this hotel is that it is featured on priceline, so it's possible to get great rates (I couldn't believe I got such a great room for only $40!). I didn't eat at any of the hotel restaurants, so I can't comment there (we ate at Taste of Texas and Willie G's) And the only thing that would make this place even better would be if it was more centrally located to downtown as opposed to being on the edge-- but if you're in town for a convention or sporting even, all are nearby. I hope this review helps and that you all enjoy this lodging establishment as much as I did!
