I have stayed here a few times and been happy with most things:

- The rooms are modern and comfortable
- The staff are helpful enough
- The food is good enough

Generally everything works and you get what you need.

Downside is that the hotel is large and has a bit of a "railway station" feel to it, especially when full. Because of that I would not chose to stay here on a vacation.

My stay at the Hilton Americas in downtown Houston was fantastic!! The staff was friendly, the room was immaculate and fantastic. I got a 20th floor view of downtown. The health club was awesome -- the top floor lap pool was great - as was the steam sauna.

I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in downtown Houston.

Despite the extra charges for this and that, we stay here strictly for one reason only - the convenience to the convention center. If you book here, try to get the best rate on the website and just realize that you are mostly paying for the location. The rooms are nice and clean, but there are no extra perks with this hotel. I'm willing to fork out a few extra bucks if it means I don't have to march around downtown Houston with my kids. My biggest gripe is at check-in when you have to stand in line for 30 minutes. Why would any hotel not have enough staff on duty knowing they are going to be fully booked? Despite that, we've always received the room we've requested.

This hotel is a total nightmare. Locked out of the room EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for SEVEN nights! Laundry was destroyed, lost, then delivered smelling like chermicals. The management just doesn't care, the staff does not care, Hilton has just gone downhill. I will NEVER stay at a Hilton Property for the rest of my life.
