Stay started out with a few issues, as the room key would not work and had to go to the front desk a few times to get one that did. Management was helpful in fixing the problem. Hot water was shut off at 10am with no warning. Business Center computers are very expensive at 49 cents a min. Management went above and beyond to fix issues but night front desk manager when I checked out was not that great. Pool & Sauna, steam rooms are great! Nice place that I would stay agian.

This place is big. From the massive lobby with three restaurants to the oversize rooms, you know you are in TEXAS. The food in the restaurants is good but it ain't cheap. If you are attending an event at the convention center, though, this is the place to stay. Everything works well, it is directly connected to the CC, and every amenity you need is found within these walls. There is a nice bar on the top floor with pleasant views and a nice lobby bar with agreeable waitstaff. Even the people in the gift shop are nice. The rooms are clean but impersonal and boast large but not-flat-screen tvs. I never had to wait but a minute for an elevator and getting my car from the garage was easy. With the decorations, music and colorful art in the lobby, I would have mistaken this place for a casino.

Hilton of the Americas is a huge hotel in downtown Houston convenienlty located to the GR Brown Convention Center (connected by sky bridge), Toyota Center (right next door), and Minute Maid Park (5 minute walk). Parking available is valet and self-park (in parking garage next door connected by sky bridge).

The room was good sized and clean and well maintained. There are a number of restaurants on site and room-service menu offers a nice selection. Restaurants are not really within walking distance, but are just a short cab ride from the hotel.

The hotel is having big issues with supplying hot water -- heard one of their two boilers is down. During the stay, no hot water on Wednesday morning --- the water was very cold! Required strategic placement of myself in the shower to minimize water contact with my body while washing my hair. Rest of the 'shower' was using a washcloth with cold water. The water on Thursday improved, but it was only lukewarm. The cold water issue was all the talk at the conference I attended-- folks even usedcoffee makers for hot water.

The hotel did comp my room one-night for the cold water and was very apologetic. Of note, this water isse has been going on for at least two-weeks.

Hotel is nice, but if you plan on staying here, please check w/the hotel to ensure the water issue has bee fixed.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights for a business convention. I found the hotel to be very clean and very big. As previously mentioned its restaurants are expensive. The lobby bar was a good place to hang out. The pool was nice and the gym was small with the usual stuff.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We spoke with an employee and found the best BBQ that I'd ever ate at. Its called, no joke, the Good Company BBQ.This hotel is also very close to the baseball stadium where the Houston Astros Play. You can walk there no problem.
