We stayed two nights at the Magnolia in downtown Houston on St. Patricks Day Weekend. Despit the fact that it was "Spring Break" and the hotel was full of young teens and pre-teens, the staff maintained a clean and relatively quiet atmosphere. We enjoyed the free "Happy Hour" drinks, milk and cookies (we had coffee) in the evening, and the complimentary breakfast (full breakfast in a comfortable atmosphere). We used the fitness equipment on the top floor and the rooftop pool. Our room was comfortable witha view and the common areas were very well maintained. The staff was friendly, helpful and they appeared happy. The hotel is close to restaurants and the Toyota Centre, but downtown Houston was "dead" when we were there. We did not use the valet parking but a parking lot adjacent to the hotel managed by the church directly across from the hotel. Valet parking was $24 per day. We parked for $8 a day and it was fairly close and locked after 11:00 p.m.
We could not have asked for a better stay! We are very very satisfied with our choice of Hotel.
