“Awesome food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

I loved this place. The food was excellent and the Vietnamese waiter Paul was great. We ordered many of his recommendations and we were very pleased. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic, the Robata short ribs amazing and the sashimi very fresh. The Lobster Dynamite I thought was just OK.
If you don't live close to Maine you might like it more than I did. The desserts were superb!! We had the apple tart and the chocolate cake and they were both excellent. For 4 the bill came to about $240 with wine and several other dishes so be prepared to spend some $$$$, but worth it.

“Sushi club!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

Located ina design place. Loud music and mix of model looking guests and staff. Dishes size is not big intentionally allow to try more dishes. We shared all dishes among all guest, tround around 12 dishes in one go, and the food was amazingly delicious. It's not cheap at all, but it worthed it!

“YUM! but not cheap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012 via mobile

My husband wanted to come here after eating at the Hollywood location several times. We knew it was going to be expensive. Reviews were not greatest but thought we would try it anyway. Were were NOT disappointed! We had the chef tasting sampler, everything was fantastic. Really liked the rock shrimp on the appetizer platter, we ordered the rock shrimp roll afterwards too. The sampler wad enough for 2 people but we had 3, so we order some sushi and the roll after. The 4th person had the chicken teriyaki and thought it was fantastic!
We will come back.

“Great atmosphere and drinks, but skip dinner!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

Katsuya is a beautiful addition to the Houston scene. Great bar and bartenders. It's a glistening gem, much bigger, louder and livelier than their restaurant in Hollywood (which I love). However, upon being seated in the dining room, our evening turned for the worse. The table service is slow. (This was a Tuesday night and there were a few people there, but it was not packed like the weekends.) Quinn, our waiter, was as sweet as he could be, but the food took a while to come out and after we finished each course, the empty plates sat on our table forever before they were removed (by someone other than our waiter). Wouldn't it have been just as easy for Quinn to pick them up when he came to refill our wine glasses? No, they just sat there and waited for the designated busboy. And speaking of wine, WAY expensive. A glass of Veuve Cliquot champagne - $25 and a glass of Cakebread Chardonnay - $23. We go out a lot, and this is high for Houston. Meals were also outrageously priced and left us wanting for more. Dinner was $300 for two of us and we were really not satisfied.
Would I go back? Only for drinks in the bar! (Martinis and other mixed drinks by the way were only $10. I really don't mind spending the $ if it's worth it, but this just felt like we were taken advantage of.)
